I've been using these for years and was so disappointed when they stopped making them. To give you an idea, I bought them originally when my son was in kindergarten, and those held up for 5 years of almost daily use, and being put in the dishwasher. These are perfect for anyone, but I especially like that my littler kids only have to open one lid, so they don't spend half their lunchtime trying to open up products. I've never had any issues with leaking, which makes these superior to similar products. They fit well in a bigger lunchbox, but are a tight fit for more standard sizes. I absolutely love them, though.
I recently started making my own TV Dinners. I use to buy already made dinners/ entree's etc.. and the flavor is horrible. The crappy peppers added to EVERYTHING. And simply no flavor to anything. Plus they are pricey. The less you pay the worse the meals...to the point the cheap ones are like dog food. I found these at my market. bought what they had left, discovered they were being discontinued..so I bought a couple dozen of them. Making my own tv dinners, and freezing them. The best thing about these is the compartments are DEEP enough you can actually put fair portions in each one of them. Not just 1 inch crammed in. AND they stack in the freezer really well.. plus you write the item & date on them,...and the ink comes off with a cleaning solvent. This was a fantastic purchase.
I have been using them for a few days and I was very disappointed. I bought them for daily use to bring lunch to work, thinking that these would be perfect for me, but I would have liked it more so that my little children just had to open a lid, so they don't spend half of their lunch hour trying to Open these fragile products. I have never had problems with leaks until I bought this product and what makes them the worst products I have bought.
During this quarantine, I promised myself that I’ll start meal preps. This storage container is worth the price even more. I didn’t expect it to be very sturdy, and so far I haven’t had any leaks. I have put it in the microwave and it hasn’t had any issues. Just make sure to wash before use!
These are the best containers for bento boxes or Sunday cook and portion, 21 day fix meal plans, make your own frozen dinners, etc.
Unlike other containers there is an actual seal between the sections - your yogurt will not soak all over the granola and make the grapes soupy before you get to work.
The bottoms and lids wash many, many times in the dishwasher just fine. I have some that are over 5 years old, They survive the freezer to microwave to dishwasher without getting brittle or breaking. If anything goes it it the lids after maybe 20 rounds of commuter lunchbox abuse. I've never had a bottom break on me. These guys are survivors.
I have had problems finding these in the stores so happy to find them on Amazon!
Got these as an add-on --- similar in size to yumbox, bentgo kids and EZLunchboxes. Our local stores don't carry them, but I saw at Target and these are only a quarter more (about $1.70 each container.... for me worth it!) Bought to pack school lunches - Going to assume they will hold up like other Ziploc containers. If your kid is a grazer/snacker, It is possible to add silicone cupcake liners to the entree area to make more compartments - they don't reach to the lid, but for many foods would work. I "upcycle" juice containers -- refill and freeze --- great at keeping lunch cold and usually melt enough to drink by lunch. I like the BENTO style lunch containers primarily for the 1 container/1 lid concept -- my son gets quite distracted at lunch and he eats more with 1 lid to keep track of.
I LOVE these lunch containers! They have a good, strong seal that keeps the food fresh, they're sturdy enough that other heavier lunch items like yogurt, bananas, a small bottle of ketchup, AND a frozen bottle of water laying on top of it doesn't squish them, and the 3 different sized sections keep each food separated until time to assemble a sandwich fresh at lunch time which prevents the bread/bun from getting soggy.
Now, I wouldn't trust the seal for something more liquidy than say ketchup, BBQ sauce, or nacho cheese type of consistency, but the seal is very good.
I had some other off-brand style of these in black with a clear lid just before replacing those with these, and OMG they were so unreliable! The container would get crushed pretty easily so I had to be careful what I stacked on top of it, the seal was never very tight AND it was kind of sharp to the touch, and I eventually hated them! I tried for nearly 6 months to make those ones work, but only disliked them more & more until I just threw them out.
But not these ones! I LOVE these containers. Thank you Ziploc for a great product!!
During coronavirus isolation, My retirement community delivers meals, 3 dinners at a time, in foam containers that cannot be microwaved, don’t always close well and conceal the contents. These Ziploc containers solve all those problems at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!
This is the perfect gladware prep meal size to plan and make your meals ahead of time. They are an excellent buy and seem quite durable as they have been used 6 times now and we ordered additional of these containers . They have survived the dishwasher each time as well as the microwave too. I will update in about 6 months to re-review the durability as I could not grade that yet but they seem as durable as the other pieces in the collection . Ships quickly as promised and I would highly recommend this vendor as well as the product too. A must buy!
