Top protector is easy enough to fit, being glass. Any air bubbles seem to work their way out within a few hours. It's also possible to lift it slightly at the edges to work out any bubbles. The top protector uses a mild adhesive, so don't try to clean the protector itself after installation as any dust from a cloth will stick to it. Make sure the screen is very clean before application. It's actually easier to put on whilst the system is on so you get a whiteish background to work with which will show up any dust easier. The bottom protector is more of a traditional film type. It too was suprisingly easy to apply and left no air bubbbles. They fit so well, it's hard to tell that they are on. I don't recommend using the supplied cleaning cloths. Use a good microfibre cloth (not the coloured ones, they will leave behind lot's of lint), the ones that are similar to spectacle cleaning cloths.
No "liquid solution" supplied, contrary to what the bullet points describe. You get a wet cleaning wipe... is that what they're referring to? No microfibre cloth supplied either (unlike many other screen protector kits I've bought), just a dry wipe that leaves little fibres at the very edges of the screen. The plastic dust lifter very quickly wraps itself into a sticky ball too... extremely difficult to use.
Also, given that you're fitting two screens, why isn't a set of wet/dry wipes for each one? By the time I'd fitted the glass screen (about a minute), the alcohol in the wet wipe had dried out completely, so it was next to useless for cleaning the lower screen.
The top screen is glass but, once placed, you can't manoeuvre it into position as suggested in the product description - you need to lift it off and start again, at which point dust can get in. And, even though it's glass, bubbles are still possible and just as hard to remove as they are with plastic screens. I had to remove it to re-align, and now the bottom right corner has a bubble that reappears even after I've smoothed it out... so I'm probably going to have to use the second screen; grrrr!
Amusingly, the lower screen is a regular plastic protector, and it went on with no trouble at all, which is why I've given 2 stars rather than one. However, it does not cover the whole of the lower screen... it stops short at the bottom by 2mm and on the right by 1mm. Was this really precision cut for the new 3DS XL?
Great set of screen protectors. The top screen is really easy to apply and i would recommend to anyone who wants to protect thier 3ds or for anyone who's 3ds has scratches on the top screen. Mine had a pretty bad scratch to the top screen and this protector has made it almost invisible during game play. The touch screen protector does the job but is much much harder to apply. It's so thin (I assume because it needs to be for the touch screen to work) and so like with many screen protectors it's hard to avoid getting the bubble effect across the screen. The first time I tried to apply the touch screen protector it was a massive fail and so I had to start again with the second one. However, with better preparation and patience I had better success with the second screen protector and most of the bubbles have almost disappeared with use.
These are brilliant and you get TWO of each in the pack. Arrived really quickly. Very easy to apply and could be peeled off and re applied. Glass one was very sturdy and went on flawlessly. The smaller screen protector is film not glass, but thick and easy to apply. Screen response is exactly then same as it was before applying, and has not affected the clarity of the games.
The top screen went on perfectly, looks great and I'll probably never take it off. The bottom screen however, was a different story. I expected that to be glass too, not a flimsy plastic film. It was a pain to apply and I eventually decided to not even bother.
