Great grind....inconvenient container
26 August 2019
So the grinding of the coffee is great!
Produces a wonderful, wondersful cuppa!
BUT the ground coffee container is a very inconvenient size.
Why is it so big?
If we've gone to the trouble of grinding coffee we know that we should grind the coffee when we are making a cuppa.
We're not going to store ground coffee.... that defeats the purpose of having a grinder.
It's great that it can be set to dose for a portafilter for an espresso machine but I use it for an aeropress ... and my workmates use it for a french press.
So now you either scoop the coffee out with a spoon ..... or try and tip it in the press which results in a mess.
Older DeLonghi's had much smaller containers..... which were the perfect size for tipping grounds into a press.
And made much more sense because they didn't have a lid (you really shouldn't store ground coffee as it defeats the purpose of having a grinder) and it was big enough to grind for a large french press...... and why would you need more.
So ..... long story cut short? It would be worth FIVE stars if only they got the container right.
