To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Ages ago, probably about the time the light bulb was invented, I quit trying to buy clothes for my wife. Everything was the either the wrong color, size, style, material, or woven under a bad zodiacal sign, and sometimes all five. Convinced that I would never wrap my brain around her style, I got on a first name basis with a good neighborhood jeweler and a florist and limped along with gifts like diamond earrings and rose bouquets.
Last year, after reading the reviews here and binge watching a Bear Grylls marathon, I decided to throw caution to the wind and live life on the edge. I bought not just one, but two, yes, two pairs of Ozone socks for my wife. Much to my astonishment, she absolutely loves these socks! Maybe not as much as the diamond stud earrings that I got her, but close. Ok, maybe not really close, but she wears these socks a lot more often than the earrings. That has to count for something.
This year, she has asked for more of these socks, so I'm going all in and buying three pairs, including the outrageously flamboyant
Ozone Design Womens Four Elements Fire Crew Sock - Red
I like these socks and they go with a pair of pants that had been challenging to find socks that matched. They are soft and comfy. My only complaint is that they have little give at the top and are built narrow. I have normal sized ankles/calves and can pull it up only just over the ankle and fold it over; too tight to pull it up all the way.
These socks are wonderful. I choose to wear black and dark grey to cope with med-induced weight gain, and that can look a bit dowdy and drab until one adds the pizazz of these socks. These are a bit subtle because standing up, they look like black socks...sitting down the socks look interesting. I loved these socks so much that I also bought the red ones. These are NOT subtle, I don't wear them to work, but I love them for weekends. The socks are cotton (a must for me) and they stay up with a bit of elastic on the top that does not cutoff circulation for me. The weight is medium--not too hot indoors in the winter,--but these are not "boot sock" weight.
I love these socks, but they run smaller than some others. I wear a size 9 women's shoe and they're just barely large enough. I wish this company would make a larger sock. I've found they're not consistent from one design to the next. Still, fabulously comfortable for a woman with a size 8 shoe or below???
Deliciously soft fabric, rich colors, lovely design, well made, wash well! Not "dress sock thin," but not really thick either-- a nice, stretchy moderate weight that could probably fit comfortably into a soft-leather pump if you like wearing crazy socks with a pant suit (I usually wear more casual-type shoes, or clogs). Btw, the design is woven in a way that leaves loose yarn ends on the inside of the socks, so take that into consideration if that matters to you.
I'm going to post the same review for the other Ozone socks that have the same characteristics.
This is a beautiful pair of socks. The shift in shade from a rich red to maroon is perfect. (I have the green pair also.) The flowers are subtle and ate placed as to grow around your leg. The only thing that could be better is the toe seam. If you have trouble with that it could be a problem. Type seams bother me, but I can tolerate the seam on these. That's why I still gave them 5 stars.
These were given as gifts to two recipients - both love them. I purchase a lot of Ozone socks and find them of good quality with beautiful and/or amusing designs. They fit as expected, and are of good weight for trouser socks.
