If you're looking for cheap, this part delivers. The fit and finish is sub-par. Black looks almost brushed on. Plate has a sharp lip on the side facing the body. I had to shave that off to use it without the gasket. I wouldn't buy it again.
holes were not perfectly matched but I was expecting that. the finnish was damaged before i even opend the package and seems to flake off the chrome that its painted on... yes bright shiny polished chrome underneath what looks like flat black spray paint.
The standard screw size for a Fender neck plate is #8 x 1 3/4. These screws are more like a #12 x 1 3/4. That's why others complain that the screws are breaking. They are way too big. I broke off 2 before I realized it. Luckily they broke where I could get a vise grip on them to remove them. Only use this if the holes in your neck are way stripped out. Even then you will have to redrill the body holes. Amazon should discontinue this item before somebody ruins a guitar neck.
This doesnt deserve a single star but I had to put one in.... SCREWS CRAP!! IT FRIGGIN BROKE HALFWAY THROUGH!!! I bought this to replace the faded black squier plate on the back of my strat. Will be asking for refund. One screw BROKE, and another stripped WAY too easily. I'm a small guy, not very strong, and I broke a screw. In half.
Looks nice but screws are 1/4 inch too long. Unless you have a thick neck heel these will go right into the fretboard. It is also almost 1/4 inch too long for the neck socket on the guitar body. I had to turn it sideways and drill the screws at an angle to get them to hold the neck in. I only bought this because i didnt feel like making my own neck plate but should have just saved the money.
