I typically wash my hair 3-4 times a week, using Living Proof dry shampoo in between (an effective, but expensive routine). I was hoping this system could extend the times between washings without costing a fortune, but it did not deliver. The clay mask is a smelly, tedious step that made no difference (if anything, my hair was greasier than usual), even when paired with the shampoo and conditioner.
I used this product while my hair was still dry, applying it as instructed before showering. However, I did not notice a great difference in the oil levels of my hair from before to after I applied the product.
I used it over the course of about a week, which admittedly might not have been a long enough time to notice any differences.
The product itself is very appealing. It has a nice, clean scent, and a texture akin to emu oil that makes application very easy.
I was excited to try this product. Although my hair is not oily by nature, there are times when my hormones are out of whack, leaving my skin and scalp oily. I thought this might help just those times.
This is a pre-poo. It's applied to dry hair prior to shampooing. Application instructions are on the underside of the label on the top of the jar (pictured).
Unfortunately, I have hair ... a lot of hair. It is very difficult to apply a thick cream directly to the scalp when you have lots of hair. Perhaps someone more precise & meticulous could do so, but apparently it won't be me. I quickly used up about a third of the product. The product was more in my hair than on my scalp. As it dried, it became difficult to access areas I missed, including my scalp. As a result, I think the product is best for short hair or sparse hair.
That said, the scent is pleasant, the directions easy to follow, it does the job, and it did not harm my hair. It's just messy and difficult to apply.
Made me shed way too much. Would rather just wash my hair everyday. Got the shampoo and conditioner to match. Used them all together. Was having to clean my drain more often then I'd like. Didn't even keep my hair from getting oily. Just made it flat.
