Despite a number of reviews claiming this product made their hair fall out (cough, cough), I decided to risk baldness to give it a try.
It is kind of messy, but you apply it to your roots for 5 minutes before shampooing. It has a light, pleasant scent, and it doesn’t dry to a hard helmet—at least not within the five minutes.
I shampooed and conditioned with the Clay shampoo/conditioner. When dry, my hair was clean and soft. I experienced no more or less shedding than normal. I used a little mouse when I dried my hair, but no other product.
The next morning, my bra-length hair was a bit oily at the roots. Maybe not as bad as without it, but not in great shape.
So I repeated the experiment, but this time I used the clay dry shampoo before bed, and lightly as I was fixing my hair in the mornings. This time the roots stayed fine not just for two days, but for 4 (although the 4th day was a bit grungier than I prefer).
So it did behave as advertised for me, but only when used in concert with the other products in the line. I have not tried to see if I get the same results from just any dry shampoo, because frankly, I really like their dry shampoo.
I give it 4 stars, because while I like it, I don’t outright love it. But it does work, and I am not bald.
I have an issue with oily roots, and the rest of my hair is dry. I’ve tried TONS of different products, and this has been the most helpful so far. I use the product once a week, and wash and dry as usual, and my roots are much less oily than they use to be. I thought I would need to use the product at least twice a week, but once a week really has made a difference. The product also smells great, and is easy to apply. It is very thick, and I’ll usually shampoo twice after applying to make sure I’ve removed it all out of my hair. Overall, very pleased, and will definitely be purchasing again.
This is awesome for something you don’t have to buy at a salon! I used two different products that had a strange reaction and my hair got really thick oily residue! I knew I needed a clay type masque. When I found this I was skeptical but after one application it worked great! The build up was resolved and I just shampooed as usual and conditioned then styled! Voila!!! It’s a must that I keep in my beauty cabinet now just in case two products can’t get along ever again!!!
So I have thin hair and often I can't spend 24 hours without accumulating on my bangs. Its gross. I use their shampoo and conditioner since others speed up this countdown to grease. Granted, I'm sixteen so I'm sure hormones play a role. Anyhow, this product that is part of their "system" has not made my hair any less greasier. It smells funky and after leaving it in for about 5-10 minutes my scalp begins to sting a little. I don't mind putting it in but I have seen no results after using it a few times. I don't discount that it has worked for other people. So try it. But don't be surprised if it doesn't work. Because I am sadly in the other group.
I started using this back in 2016/2017, I am not sure what that other bald spot post is about, it looks like alopecia to me,... I can tell you I've never had that issue. I use it because my hair is thinning out and my scalp will get oily and gross. so when I started using this biweekly I noticed more growth and a healthier scalp.
I recommend the product, I usually also do a moisturizing mask after using this and shampooing.
This just worked okay for my hair. No noticeable difference in my view. I have very oily hair so I don’t like to wash my hair too often (every other day to every two days,) but it didn’t keep the oil away. I had oily hair again after the day I washed my hair. It did make my hair pretty soft and it smelled fine so I used the whole thing. I just wish it worked better for oily hair.
i use this most washes and definitely notice when i don’t use it. it’s not a miracle but it definitely extends my hair by about a day and leaves it feeling very clean. that said i don’t understand why it doesn’t come in a squeeze bottle. i have long nails so i use a spoon to get the product out so it doesn’t get under them.
This stuff works like crazy!!! I have thin oily hair that normally has to be washed everyday, with this stuff I could skip 1-2 days of washing. I used it in combination with the matching shampoo and conditioner. The scent is kind of weird and chemically but I can live with that to have clean hair longer!
I typically wash my hair 3-4 times a week, using Living Proof dry shampoo in between (an effective, but expensive routine). I was hoping this system could extend the times between washings without costing a fortune, but it did not deliver. The clay mask is a smelly, tedious step that made no difference (if anything, my hair was greasier than usual), even when paired with the shampoo and conditioner.
