These strings give a warm, strong and bright sound. I put a full set on the violin I use. This is a Stentor Student 2. Now having just acquired the violin I felt I wanted a better sound from the violin. I knew being second hand, the strings that were on it when it came had seen better days. (They were very scratchy). After much deliberating, (Dominant, Piastrao Tonica, D,Aaddrio and this brand,) I choose this one because it offered great value for money. It also had great reviews plus someone in the comments said if you snapped them whilst restringing, they would give you another string at no extra charge. Being the first time of doing it I may well snap one or even two. Well they arrived. And I ended up snapping 2 of them. I told the guys on here who sold them to me and told them the issue. They were great. They promptly sent me out a full set, bless them. I now have a full set on and it sounds great. Now I know how to put them on i shouldn't be snapping anymore lol. 5/5
Seeing as we are in lockdown, I thought I would dig out my violin that I hadn't touched in nearly 12 years only to find it needed new strings. After looking for ones that were not too expensive, but also a good quality, I opted for these ones - and I'm glad I did.
Each string comes in its own packet labelled 1st to 4th - that did throw me because I'm used to calling the strings by their name and not number, but I figured it out in the end - and they are so easy to install. Once I managed to tune the violin (not the strings fault) I played a few notes and the sound is fantastic.
I'm definitely going to buy these strings again, for the price and the quality you can't go wrong. Thank you!
These strings were fitted to my 3D printed violin. Unfortunatelydue to not installing the strings on the pegs correctly, i snapped the E string while fitting (and subsequently snapped the D string while dis-assembling my violin) However, the 3 strings that I fitted successfully did sound very good when I started bowing, and I won't hesitate in ordering again - once I have re-printed my violin as a left handed one! Good quality, fast delivery and at a decent price!
Bought for nephew, he has been playing for about 5 years. 2 strings broke while being fitted, the little bobble came off the end of each string. Another suffered the same fate after an hour or so. You will see from my expert description of the bobble bit that I am no violinist so can only go by what I saw. I bought a different brand and we had no problem.
As a new violinists, I bought these strings to replace those fitted to a new violin as one broke when I was trying to tune it straight from the box. These are of a much higher quality and the sound has improved since I fitted them, after the initial stretch they hold their tuning well. I will buy these strings again as a spare set.
Being honest. I've rated them 5 stars across the board as my violin tutor recommended these. Please remember I am a beginner so I know nothing of what to look out for but seeing as they were suggested to me by her I thought they'd be good. No problems with them so far.
