This wipe warmer does its job fairly well. If you put a regular sized stack of baby wipes in this warmer, the top 1/3 would be warmed but anything below that fell woefully short of a warm wipe. It didn't become an issue for my daughter because she wasn't picky nor bothered by a lukewarm wipe, but if you are looking for a very warm wipe for sensitive babies, you might be disappointed. The lock feature is nice, but not entirely necessary for babies/kids to stay out of the wipes, more for me to be able to pull out the wipes without the top completely opening up every time. I thought I would care for the the light up function for those middle of the night changing, but I rarely used the interior light to see the number of wipes, instead I would just life up the top and check the wipe level when the morning came.
HOT PLATE —— The hot plate (which is supposed to keep the wipes warm) is only on the top. What does this mean? Unless the warmer is full to the brim with wipes, the wipes remain cold because they can’t reach the hot plate. So the first few wipes from the top will come out warm, but as you use more, the pile is lower and can’t reach the hot plate. It forces you to keep refilling constantly.
LID ———- As to the top lid (where the wipes come out), you can see on the video I uploaded that it doesn’t have a locking mechanism. Thus, when you open the lid underneath to refill the warmer, the top lid opens and it is extremely annoying.
I love Hiccapop as a company, but overall I am unimpressed with their wipe warmer. Not compatible with the Water Wipes brand. Every time we place a new pack of wipes in they not only do not reach the top but when pulled through the previous wipe does not pull the next wipe up. This leaves us to open the whole lid, when in theory it should be locked. It's very annoying, and we are disappointed. Sidenote: We have tried putting two packs of wipes in which is too much -- still doesn't work. Great in theory, but does not work in our household. However, it does keep the wipes warms.
Their instructions were easy to understand (and quite charming). I use the half cup of water on the wipes to keep them from drying out. They're steamy and warm, and babygirl doesn't get shocked during changes. Not worth the money.
I will update my product review when we switch to cloth wipes.
Pros- Warms wipes enough to not be cold, the light feature has been helpful, it looks nice.
Cons- only the an inch worth of the top wipes are the perfect temp (just a tad warm) because it seems the top piece has the warmth so once the wipes are not touching the lid portion they no longer keep them warm. I understand it's just supposed to be warm enough to take the chill off but it barely does that once the wipes aren't making contact with the lid. My little one still flinches at the wipes that are not the top ones.
Over all, they are better than completely cold wipes but I'd prefer the slight warmth feature warm the bottom too.
This is a great warmer for regular wipes but for the water wipes it does not work it doesn’t catch the next one so we have to lift the whole thing up which is really frustrating because it won’t come through the hole one after the other like it should. Which is super disappointing because when he poops haven’t looked it up it’s just super cumbersome.
It was late, my baby was only a week or so when I was struggling in the dark to change his diaper after he took a massive baby poop. I had the warmer for a few days and I loved how it wasn't such a shock to my baby when I cleaned him like it was when I took wipes right out of their package (you seriously don't know what a difference it makes until you have something like this, and anything that makes baby less fussy is worth it) the only thing was, baby wasn't finished pooping---dont act like you've never been there.
hes also a gassy baby, and he projectile pooped...several times (I've never experienced anything like this before, and hope I never have to again) and it squirted all over the warmer.
After I took care of the baby and brought the warmer in to the sink to wash it, I discovered a very serious design flaw.-- you cant clean it very well. all the crap that got into the nooks and crannies...is there forever. my concern? bacteria tend to LOVE warm, moist things and poop is full of bacteria. So either I get rid of it or risk creating a bacterial city I'd be slathering on my babies body every time he has a diaper change.
We’ve used this wipe warmer with both water wipes and honest wipes.
This warmer did not dry out our water wipes, but we did notice the warmer did not keep them warm and they were extremely hard to pull out from the top opening. We usually had to unlock the warmer from the sides and take them out from the inside rather than the opening on the top.
With the honest wipes we realized this warmer did keep them warm BUT dried them out. With these wipes we were able to pull them out from the top, unlike the water wipes. I wouldn’t recommend this warmer.
I had a Prince Lionheart warmer for my first 2 kids and it was fine I didn’t love it
Tried this as a 2nd warmer for #3 and it’s fine, not much difference.
Neither this warmer or the Prince Lionheart really work with water wipes. Water wipes just don’t flow through a dispenser hole, so you have to open the main compartment with this and the Lionheart to get the wipes out.
The wipes in this don’t get as warm as the Lionheart. When there aren’t enough wipes in the wipes down the bottom are often cold as it heats the top.
There’s is no water pad for this warmer as with the Lionheart. It recommends pour water in.
I’ve ordered an extra water pad/pillow for the Prince Lionheart warmer to use with this warmer to help keep the wipes moist without having to pour water in and soak the wipes.
In summary this warmer is fine, and from my experience with the Lionheart warmer also they are pretty similar. If I was buying again I would probably go for a Lionheart as it’s a little easier to open the main box to get water wipes out.
I’ve used three or four different wipe warmers, and this one is my favorite. It took me a bit to “warm” up to it, but I think that it holds a Kirkland package of wipes the best (or at least as good as any other I’ve used) and I like the light feature. Also, the customer service alone is worth five stars. I like that you don’t have to add water and that there is no “pad” at the bottom that turns brown, etc. the lid feels more secure than some others I’ve used too, and the wipes stay moist. I bought two of these and had an issue with the rubber flap on one, and they immediately sent me a replacement. With great customer service, a lifetime guarantee, and a totally solid product, it’s hard to go wrong here.
