To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The bottom of this teapot is not thick at all. When you tap on it, the glass sounds quite fragile. I really cannot see how this can sit on a stove with a flame. I'm not game to try either. However, I did buy a stainless steel teapot warmer also from another supplier which I put a tealight candle in and then placed this teapot on top of the stainless steel warmer, but it only keeps the tea luke warm - not as hot as I would like.
My wonderful teapot cracked. 😩 I guess it couldn’t handle the heat. My husband told me when I purchased it that it would not last, it would eventually end up cracking and he was right. I’m pretty bummed. It could have been my fault, perhaps I allowed it to boil too long. This tea pot definitely shouldn’t be left boiling for too long and it needs to be supervised since there isn’t a whistle to let you know when the water is ready. For these reasons I reduce stars from 5 to 2.
Just received my tea pot and I love it. It’s super cute although I do wish it was larger, I wasn’t aware how small it was. So far I haven’t had any issues using it so hopefully it last. I do want to say the handle does NOT get hot. I read some reviews that stated it did. Maybe they are leaving it on the heat much longer than necessary. 🤷🏻♀️ I do miss having a tea kettle that whistles but I guess it’s okay. I will update if I have any durability issues.
Glass cracked after a couple weeks of use. Went through three calling systems to get warranty support. There is no person to talk to, and no email address for support. Also, no one ever responds to the web-form that is supposedly for warranty. Total waste of money! Will never recommend to anyone!!
I like that the handle on this pot stays cool to the touch when the rest of the pot is hot. I had reservations about using this directly on the stove but I tried it and it works great directly on the stove top. I took a few pictures from start to finish with a couple of tea bags on the the stove top from cold water to boiling.
I was very excited to receive my tea kettle today! by reading the reviews some people have had bad experiences with a cracking and not so sure how the warranty has worked out for them. In my case , I have an electric tea kettle where I normally make my tea in but because my husband is a coffee drinker we only use it for boiling water. so I transfer the boiling water into the tea kettle it is very cute it's small and it's perfect for me as I could bring it in to my study room and have it with me. I highly recommend it if there is any changes I will definitely update my review.
This is a nice teapot and works in the microwave as noted. I will hold about 6 cups of water but 4 is recommended. The loose leaf tea does not seem to get out into the tea which is good. Makes good tea and will stay warm a long time with a kitchen towel over it. Take out the tea leaves after making the tea as it can get a bit bitter and strong with something like Oolong left sitting. Tried green gun powder tea that is good too.
It's exactly as described. A high quality glass that does not feel like it will easily chip or crack. It went from room temperature to full of boiling hot water with no issues. Packaging says it can be placed directly on heat, but I did not try this. The loose tea insert easily but snuggly fits and easily rinsed clean. This was an impulse buy for a flowering tea ball, but SO glad I got it!! One photo has the teapot on a silver fondu stand I had, it is not included.
