Was good... until I tried to clean it
Reviewed in Australia on 28 June 2020
I got this product to give myself haircuts in the era of corona. First two haircuts were great - it worked really well, the clearly labeled colours/hair lengths makes it easy to use and cut. Then I thought I'd follow the instructions and clean it. The instructions tell you to unscrew the bit (etc) to clean it properly. So I do that. Then I assume I've put it together, and it will work. Nope.
The instructions said nothing about this. I scoured the internet, spent an hour watching youtube videos to figure out things like aligning the blades properly etc (Wahl apparently didn't think it worthwhile to include this kind of instruction in its own product). I got about no where, the clipper would cut a few hairs but basically didn't work anymore. What I realised was one of the parts attached to one of the blades, the metal was going back and forth, so even if I aligned the blades, it would just move out of place when I turned it on. That's the best I could tell in terms of figuring it out, but bottom line is, it worked well until I followed the instructions and tried to clean it, and now it doesn't work. I've only had it for about 2 months. It could be worse, but it amounts to spending about $50 for each hair cut. I'm going to order clippers from another brand, as this experience was frustrating. Would not recommend.
