It’s extremely difficult to use - need to press very hard to cut an apple. Not sure it’s because the blades are not sharpe enough or because the design of handles is difficult to apply pressure. I need to knock it against the table to cut apples and here is the result- it broke with just a few uses. Don’t waste your money on this
I recently moved and couldn't find my old slicer so I bought this one. It was shipped promptly and looked like a high quality product so I was pleased.........until I used it. First of all, it wasn't nearly as sharp as my several year old one was. It took a lot more pressure to push through the apples. I could deal with that, but then I found out that it didn't cut all the way through leaving all the slices still attached to the core which means you have to turn it upside down and break off each individual slice. I'm going to continue to search for my old one.
This was shipped in a timely manner. I intended to use it every day for my husbands apple snack. It worked fine the first few times, but now seems to be dull and tears up the apple more than when I first used it. I don't put it in the dishwasher and just rinse and dry it manually. It is a bit difficult to use when the apple isn't perfect. It still is faster and easier than a knife.
I love everything about this apple slicer, except it doesn’t cut all of the way through. I always end up having to push the apple through the rest of the way with my fingers. My husband is terrified I’m going to slice my finger. On a positive note, I love the ease of use. I typically throw it in my lunch bag with a few apples for work. Super convenient, as I don’t really want to bring a knife with me to work or have to eat brown apple slices. I would probably splurge on a more expensive/higher quality one if you slice apples often.
Our old old apple slicer finally broke and we liked it so much that I immediately ordered this one as a replacement.
I've used a slicer/corer like this since the kids were very little. At first I pealed the apple and then sliced and put the pieces in one of those baby "bags" where they could gum and suck on the pieces without threat of choking. Later I stopped pealing the apple so we could all enjoy the fiber.
This model cuts easily and has an advantage over our ancient one in that it's easier to hold.
Worked as expected (not very well), but the husband insisted on ordering anyway. It is really hard to angle the tool just right to keep the core in the correct area. Needs some weight/muscle to cut through the apple (not great for kids), and then it always gets hung up on the bottom. Doesn’t cut through the skin at the very bottom. I much prefer to cut an apple with a knife.
This apple slicer is smaller than my previous one and the handles are harder to hold on to. The curve and width of the handles makes it harder to find leverage and the blades are double layerd which makes it harder to cut through the apple and to clean. I already used it, so I can't return it, but I will be buying a different product to replace the last one that broke.
This apple cutter is very useful and saves time cutting apples but the blades aren’t really sharp so you have to press really hard and put your weight on it to be able to cut an apple. It’s also not proportioned that good as the circle in the middle is too small to get out all of the core and I usually find myself going back with a knife and cutting out the remaining seeds. I recommend it if you’re cutting small apples but you should keep looking because there’s surely more functional ones on the market that get the job done
The Apple slicer we ordered on June 2 was not what we were hoping for. The service getting it to us was great, but the slicer has a long way to go. We use it primarily for apples and it failed in a big way. Either the blades are dull or it is a poor design. We have purchased many cheaper ones at local retailers that far exceeded yours in performance. I had to push with all my strength to cut up five honeycrisp apples for my wife. Could we just have a dull slicer? Let use know what you think is wrong.
