I just recently received the Jill & Joey belly band and have used it a couple of times now. I could immediately feel a difference the second I put it on. I am 29 weeks pregnant and starting to feel really uncomfortable. Wearing the band throughout the day really helped make moving around and getting comfortable in my chair so much easier.
The band is of great quality. It came in a cute little zip bag for storage and a card with some history on the company and instructions for correct placement.
I searched around for a little while trying to figure out what band I wanted to buy. I like this particular band because of the width of the band. Without ever using another band, I feel like the width helps support me well over what I thought other bands with smaller widths in the front would have done.
Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase and I would recommend this product to other moms without a doubt.
I'm a size 16 (1x) and this baaaarely fit me and I'm only 21 weeks pregnant. I was hoping for something that would continue to grow with me over the next few months based on their comments that it's one size fits all, but now I have to return it. Very annoyed.
If you’re having any round ligament pain, low back pain, or pelvic discomfort, buy this! At only 14 weeks, I started having a lot of discomfort when bending and lifting, especially when lifting my 2 year old. This belt totally saved me. It’s very soft and comfortable, and it’s breathable so you don’t get too hot. The size is very adjustable. I’m a size 16 pre pregnancy and I have plenty of extra band left. I feel confident saying this would fit almost any Mama comfortably.
My fiance and I purchased a few different belly bands before finding this one. While the others weren't bad by any means, this one is so far above and beyond the others in terms of support, comfort, and fit, that the others do look bad in comparison.
The value of this band is incredible. It was priced competitively (lower than a couple others we tried that were of much lower quality, in fact), but don't let the price fool you; this is an outstanding belly band and you'll be hard pressed to find a better one on the market.
We did tons of research on belly bands and pillows and we ended up going with Jill & Joey for both, not only because the reviews were excellent for both, but also because their customer service was highly championed by many others. I can now confirm that the quality of this band and their pillow are both stellar and their customer service is outstanding. They reached out to me after I made the purchase as a post-sale follow up. I really appreciate that level of care for their customers and overall service.
I couldn't be happier with our purchase. I definitely recommend this band.
OMG! I've been going to the chiropractor every week for the last 4 weeks and had 2 massages. Nothing was helping my back and I'm only 17 weeks with my 3rd child. I've a very hypolordotic curve so pregnancy really strains my back. Within 20 minutes of wearing the support belt my back pain was almost gone. Wore it all day at work today and took it off when I got home, within 15 minutes of taking it off my pain was back.... looks like I know what my everyday best friend will be for the next few months!!
This helped so much! I cleaned my entire house while wearing this and no belly pain or back pain at all. It made me feel like superwoman! It also helped with the itchy skin pulling feeling at the top of my belly. I was worried I would be hot but it does as it says and breaths well. We haven't gotten into the super hot months yet but I am so glad I bought the Jill and Joey belt vs. the others. I will be recommending this to all my pregnant friends.
Before I review this belt, I want to call out how nicely it was packaged and how much thought was put into the buying experience. Whenever I receive things I bought on Amazon, I'm used to finding them packaged super cheap and it is not very appealing. This belt though, as well as the pillow we ordered from Jill and Joey, were both packaged very beautifully and a lot of thought was put into the customer experience. They provide clear instructions on how to use the belt with pictures next to it and also make themselves available for any feedback or questions. I feel valued as a customer.
The belt itself is made of high quality, elasticated cotton and is very easy to put on and take off. The size works well and I still have enough belt left to use it in my last trimester. I feel supported when wearing this belt and because it's so soft, it is very comfortable to have on. I tried another belt during my previous pregnancy and even though its support was good, the velcro wasn't strong enough and it kept coming off. This belt's velcro is strong enough to hold it in place. I'm very happy with this purchase and will keep an eye on future product launches by Jill and Joey.
I am thoroughly impressed with this product. The only complaint I have (which might be my own fault), it does not help me with my posture. I work at a computer all day and have trouble keeping my back straight. I think I remember some reviews saying it helped with their posture; not for me, at least not sitting down. Now standing up, this brace offers a lot of support and a comfort feeling...if that makes sense. Last thing, it's very adjustable and easy to remove/put on.
I am 5'2'' and currently almost 24 weeks. At this point, I can no longer lounge on a couch, sit back in a car, or get ultrasounds on my back. After about 3o seconds I will become yawny, light headed, tingly and airy feeling in my fingers and head, and then get a headache. If i dont move or change positions I will pass out. This is due to the baby putting pressure on my vena cava in my back. On top of all that, by 4 in the afternoon the days bloat and weight has taken its toll and i feel 950 lbs and like 900 of it is hanging over my stomach area. I knew I needed a support belt. I had one with my last pregnancy which caused this same kind of stuff around the same time. I had a different belt, a bit bigger and with like boning in the back. I wanted something this time around that wasn't so bulky.
I got this today and put it on immediately.
1) Ah yes the feeling of being supported... its pretty instant. once you pull the velcro in and secure it it is like instant lift. 2) it does not help my back issue. I wasn't sure it would, but was hopeful. Unfortunately it does not. nothing will fix that other than being on my side. 3) I was kind of hp=oping for the frontpart of the band to be a bit narrower. its the same width all the way around, and most of us need the lift from the under belly up. I dont need hal m stomach covered and pressed in. It doesn't show in the pics i attached, but later I did adjust it so the back part was way higher up to give it more of an angle and get under my belly more. 4) It helps take in my love handles and hips! score!
In the third pic i attached, i drew dotted lines to about where my belly came out to prior to putting on the belt. Baby was not happy at first, but has since seemed to calm down and settle into his new spot. Sorry BB.... but you dontget to hang out down there anymore lol. I do feel bad like maybe hurting him or restricting him in some way, but then i remember how hard my sonographer pressed into my belly during a fetal echocardiogram and if that didnt hurt him, this definitely doesn't.
I love this band, it has become my everyday necessity to keep baby up and me comfortable. I started wearing it at 21 weeks (size 0), and it fit great, now at 26 weeks it still fits and I am certain it will fit the whole pregnancy. The reason it doesn't get a 5 star review is because of the convenience when using the bathroom (what I have been doing is just pulling it up over my belly, but soon that won't work, and it is definitely stretching out the material), but since it does not have a loop which to put the slack through, you would need to remove the whole band, place it somewhere, and then re-velcro (which is a pain in public restroom).
