My dog is a medium sized corgi and I was able to fit her into the medium size bag but I would buy a Large if they had it because the velcro collar part for the animals head is pretty small, obviously for a cat. But anyways, my dog has always had a problem with getting her nails cut. Such a small dog but super strong!! Took 3 people to hold her down and help cut her nails at the vet’s. They even considered sedating her but managed to do the job without. I didn’t like the inconvenience of having to pay to get her nails cut every time at the vets and I also felt bad for the vet tech’s because she was so problematic and very resitant. I was looking for alternative solutions until I came across this product. GOT THE JOB DONE! She struggled and fought but the bag really helps to restrain her from kicking and being aggressive towards me as I filed down her nails quickly. The bag did rip a little from her kicking but that is how bad her nails were! The fabric is pretty good though And still usable. Very relieved I came across this product.
This is hard for me to review. I am so sure for MOST cats this would be a great tool. Unfortunately for me my (formerly) feral cat has figured out how to break out of the bag and throw a cat temper tantrum.
I've been using the bag to administer sub q fluids to my extreme feral fight or flight cat. It works when she finally calms down, but the fact that she's able to break out of it isn't so good.
For MOST CATS this is epic, it's well made and super durable.
So great product, just not great for me. Maybe it's good for you?
Used to psychologically get our returned feral boy to behave while visiting his siblings. I monitored him in this product on the first day and all went fine. The next day, I repeated as before, with "Friendly" in the bag and watched some TV. It wasn't long, and he was able to slip out and then attacked one of his brothers (he changed when he went feral and came back hating other cats). There was a fight, but thankfully no real injuries. The bag was undamaged. Several months later, I placed him in it again, then placed him inside of another type full-zipper cat bag and that was enough to keep him restricted. I'm trying to get him resocialized, one day at a time. May want to use a safety pin or additional velcro devices to secure the bag.
I'm sure this would work for some cats. My cat however, turned into a snarling, spitting, hissing hellcat of rage. She started twisting and rolling across the coffee table yeowling like I stuck her in a live lobster tank. I had to don oven mitts to get her back out of it.
I got this in the hopes that I would be able to use it on my kitten to get her to let me clip her nails. It was a complete failure. I'm still giving it 4 stars because I think it's a really good device, but I still had a really hard time with it. My kitten is 7 months old and just screams bloody murder if I try to cut her nails. I was able to get her into this device and she screamed and wailed the whole time which was really awful. I was able to get one paw out of the front and clip those nails while she struggled and tried to bite me. The second paw was more difficult, and after that it was impossible. I wasn't able to get the back legs out. I honestly just have to take her to get sedated before clipping her nails. She's a jerk. Cool product though.
I just didn't have enough hands to hold my cat still while I gave her fluids. She would always get away while I was trying to get the needle in. My cat isn't the type to bite during her treatment, she does a runner instead. It is getting harder to wrestle her into the bag as time goes on but it is so much easier and less painful for her if she is kept still. The lining to keep her fur out of the zipper does interfere but I fold it out of the way. We have a small framed cat around 8 pounds and she fits in the small size just fine. Any looser and there would be room for her to thrash around inside the bag.
Great product 👍 Worked perfectly for 2 of my 3 cats. My 14 pound male Tabby couldn't get out nor could my 5 pound female. My 12 pound female however figured out she could pull her head backwards into the bag and make it a huge pain in the rear to use. Great quality over all, my temperamental cat is just too defiant to use it reliably. But 2 out of 3 isn't bad :)
Cutting cats claws has been a nightmare for years. Had to go to groomer to have the nails clipped. This device made cutting the cats claws a great deal easier for both us and the cat. Took the two of us some time to get the cat in the bag, but once in it was a breeze to cut the nails both front and back . Cat seemed to calm down once inside the bag because it was a snug fit.
The bag is well made with sturdy materials and high-quality zippers. However, I don't know if it works because it was impossible to get my cat in it, even between two people. If you have a "long" cat, size M will be too small and they don't have size L, so you can't change it. Though we couldn't get him in, I was pretty sure he wasn't going to fit longwise anyway.
My cat hates this bag. However! When it comes down to it, i think she prefers being held in the bag than being put in the normal plastic crate deal. Because she hates it, it’s difficult to place her in it, however the design makes it decently easier.
