Pros: - I like that this is a lightweight A5. Most popular A5 binders are much more bulky. - It holds a fair amount of paper for its small profile. - It has no frills. That's a con for some people, but I like that in a planner. - I like the color selection. Bright, neutral, masculine, and feminine options. - The rings sit cleanly together. - The rings are actually pretty large for the overall size of the planner. I thought I would dislike that the rings go through the cover, but I've had no issue with it.
Cons: - I expected better quality from Filofax. The PU leather is just glued to a plastic sheet, and it is not rugged by any stretch of the imagination. - The only way to open the rings is by pulling them apart. There is no lever on the sides. If you keep your binder full, this gets annoying. - It does not lay flat, so it's difficult to write on the left-hand side. - Mine came to me defective. The back cover was missing a small corner, and the PU leather had already starting detaching from the plastic. It's an easy fix, yes. But for what you're paying for a simple non-leather binder, I expect better quality control.
Overall I like the planner. I'll continue to use it, because it is so difficult to find inexpensive (less than $80) low-profile A5 planners. But wouldn't pay full price for it again (I paid $30). In my opinion it is overpriced for what it is. I'd probably skip the PU leather and go with the clear plastic version, but for some reason it's almost the same price.
