I had read many reviews. Some said this product was flimsy, and needed two hands to hold it. One said the top was very difficult or impossible to snap onto the bottom. I have a similar device from a different supplier, and it has worked for years, so I decided to try this one.
I recently used it. I found its performance to be excellent. It had enough room to store my whole cooked eggs, and plenty of room to hold the egg halves as I was stuffing them. Although my eggs were large, not extra large, there seemed plenty of room to accommodate the extra large hens eggs.
I always hand wash (in hot soapy water) this type of plastic.
The base is rigid enough to lift the filled container with one hand on one end of it. It did not flex. I installed the cover with little effort, although I placed it on a solid surface to do so. The covers fit snugly, so it kept the deviled eggs fresh.
Empty containers do 'nest' for storage, but one does not go completely down to the bottom of the other, because of the indentations for eggs. It does save considerable room, however, to nest two together, which is the way I store mine.
I am completely satisfied with my purchase, and would order again and recommend to others.
I LOVE THIS EGG HOLDER!!! I originally received this as a gift. I loved it so much I bought more for myself and plan on buying more as gifts for family members. I use this for my deviled eggs. Plastic with a tight sealing lid that held large to jumbo size deviled eggs perfectly. The low profile isn’t so low that it damages the prepared eggs. I can easily stack two or three in my fridge until time to serve. There wasn’t a problem removing the prepared eggs the spacing is far enough apart to remove an egg without damaging neighboring eggs.
I have four kids. Two in thier early 20s. Two early teens. My family consumes a LOT of eggs. So I buy them by the case of 60 at Walmart. They are good eggs. The only problem, is I'd end up putting this giant box, that gets soggy after a week or so, in my fridge. These egg trays are the PERFECT solution for my problem. I don't believe they'd hold up well in the dishwasher, so we hand wash them. We keep them in the refridgerator, even when empty, to "reserve the space" for the eggs. They work, they weren't expensive, and we like them.
Ordered to have in time for Thanksgiving for deviled eggs. It arrived with no literature, does not state if it's BPA free or not. Wrapped in that hard cheap-o plastic and containers are cheap plastic like you find in the Dollar Tree. In fact, I have seen better quality plastic in Dollar Tree. COMPLETELY OVERPRICED FOR QUALITY YOU RECEIVE! $10.99 is what I paid and now $13.00 at time of leaving this review.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving so I don't have much choice in returning but if I did this would go back right away! I definitely don't recommend putting in dishwasher and honestly I can't recommend at all. Keep looking for a better quality deviled egg tray!
Not as described - Could not give higher stars since it is specifically listed as a deviled egg holder and is a plain egg holder. The only way it holds deviled eggs is if they are cut opposite of normal deviled eggs. I ordered specifically so I could take deviled eggs to a party and this did not work at all. My eggs had to go on a paper plate and were a disaster after the car ride in the cooler there. As an egg holder I have no issue but I am extremely disappointed with the false description. Even if you cut them opposite to use as deviled egg holder, you have to flip the out because of the deep tight fit getting filling all over your hand!
I got two by mistake but thats okI am using both right now. its alot sturdier than keeping the eggs in paper carton that you buy the eggs in. so when i buy eggs i transfer the eggs to this storage container and I am able to take the eggs out of refirgerator with one hand because I am in wheelchair and the eggs dont splatter on the floor. highly recommend it.
