I have to say I was quite disappointed. They've made them with removable tails. I mean why would one need to remove it in the first place? So they're constantly falling out and then they don't stand properly because of the weight distribution.
I really thought these were cute, but as mentioned in a number of reci was there are major flaws with the tails and one cannot stand very well. The tails also break easily with then ends that are supposed to go into the pony get stuck making it irreparable.
Cons: 1. Rairty doesn't balance well at all because one of her hooves is raised and her hair throws her off. Pinkie Pie also has this issue. Very difficult to balance them on carpet but hard surfaces are a little easier. 2. The tails pop off - but they can be popped back in. 3. Poor quality. After only two months of play my daughter managed to break off Fluttershy's tail inside the "tail hole" (for lack of a better word). I spent all day digging the tail piece out of the "tail hole" and finally was able to get it out with jewellery sized tweezers. Then I had to hot glue the tail into the "tail hole" and hope it doesn't come off again. Also I have noticed the paint is smudged on some of the ponies, like in Rainbow Dash's hair. 4. No Spike. (Personal preference) 5. I wish it was real hair instead off plastic. (Personal preference from my own My Little Pony days. Apparently there are other "Mane Six" sets that have real hair and I should have looked for those.)
Pros: 1. They resemble the characters from the show very well. 2. They are waterproof and my daughter loves to bring them into the bath. 3. My four year old daughter loves these and would give them 5 stars. But she is patient, mature (the tail thing doesn't bother her and she has never lost them). Plus we don't indulge her with many toys so she is super happy with these and has played with them every single day since she got them.
So, in summary, a four year old probably won't care but the adults want better quality.
My daughters LOVE these. We opened them yesterday, and they were so excited. The big problem is the tails. They come off so easily that every time one of my girls would pick one up to play they were having to fix the tail. I thought, I can fix that. I glued them in. Well... it's less that 24 hours since we opened the box and all the tails have snapped off. I'm really sad. I can't send them back, because my daughters won't give them up, but at the same time they get really upset when the tails break. :-( . Other than that they are great!
Alright so this was a birthday gift for my 3 year old son. He is a die hard MLP fanboy. I was very disappointed as he unwrapped and began excitedly bouncing about as my husband pulled the toys from plastic, Fluttershy was minus a limb. Our son was still very enthusiastic. Obviously he overlooked the poor gal who apparently wasn't good enough in production to receive her necessary fourth limb for standing. Honestly would have given 1 star if our son hadn't still enjoyed the toys. I couldn't bring myself to take them away to send back. Maybe need a little more TLC when manufacturing the Magic of Friendship.
These were a lot bigger than I thought. I purchased them to display because I thought they were cute. Unfortunately they're cheaply made. Fluttershy's hair line is BAD, all of them have minor scratches or plastic folds/lines in their body, Applejack should have been made a hat, and it took some muscle to get them out of their packaging. I couldn't get Rarity out without cutting through the plastic. They each have the little standing hole on a foot but can stand on their own. Their tails also move around easily. I'm pretty disappointed and haven't decided if I will be returning them.
