i need a monitor for home office and not many choices for fast shipping. This one is good color for display and fast respond, but I don't think this one can beat some kind of gaming monitor which is much faster respond and accurate color. This one cannot compared to Mac with retina display but it is worth for office use too.
The power cord does not seem to stay plugged into the monitor. So when I need to tilt my screen in attempt to use the camera for zoom calls, and by tilt I do mean minimal tilt, the cord seems to pull away from the screen plug in port.
It was time for a new monitor. Wanted one with *features*, like a camera & mic. Got more than I expected. Did not realize how much better the display would be using an HDMI connection.
Was initially puzzled by some of the installation instructions, which are mostly 'graphic', so pull them out of the installation-manual PDF. More cables are provided than are needed, but maybe not all. Presumably because of the camera, a USB connection is necessary back to your computer. The cable provided has a 'USB B' connector on one end - that's what goes into the back of the monitor. If you use HDMI (or DisplayPort) for the video signal connection, you don't need an audio cable to your computer. Once that is sorted out, it should be all plug & play. And not too expensive either!
I'm using this for a business workstation, and it's a good fit. I'm using this standard monitor with 1FH47A8#ABA (23.8-inch standard monitor) in a multi-monitor setup.
Pros + Clear image + Plenty of brightness + Color range is good for the price + Slim bezel is nice for multi-monitor setups + Reasonably thin and light + Internal power supply (no external power brick) + Decent sound quality for internal speakers. They're equivalent to good laptop speakers. + Webcam microphones are good. I use them for teleconferences. + The "pop-up" style webcam is nice. I like to hide it when not in use.
Cons: - Viewing angle could be better. I was spoiled with my old laptop. - Matte finish burrs the crispness slightly, compared to a glossy monitor - Blue light filter is activated though the display menu, which is awkward to use. - Webcam image quality is poor. The viewing angle is good, but that's about it.
No opinion: - Webcam requires use of a USB cable. That's not surprising, but I didn't account for it on my cable management plan. - Haven't tried the stand. It looks nice, but I already ordered a dedicated dual monitor mount. - Non-business applications. I've watched some video, but nothing really response time intensive.
The product description did not say anything about the webcam not being compatible with macbooks. After doing a lot of research myself because I couldn't get it to work, I paid for Geek Squad to come to my house and they confirmed the files on the software disc are all Windows files. I had to buy an external webcam. The monitor alone works fine, but I bought this more expensive model specifically for the videoconferencing feature.
This was put in service within 30 minutes after delivery! I would have given it 5 stars, but the instructions were in Spanish and Portuguese, not English. it took awhile to find the camera, as it may be hidden from view/use by pushing it into the case top. I had to look closely to locate it, and pop it up for use. Nice feature. Drivers loaded on windows 10 as device was plugged in, did not require the CD to use monitor with my laptop. local adjustment for speakers, microphone, power and monitor screen settings. Camera works very for well for Skype Business program. Very pleased with this monitor works well for working at home! I would recommend this monitor and would have given 5 stars had the instructions been in English.
Now that I finally figured out how to set it up, the monitor quality is excellent. Sharp images and great colors. The odd thing is that the monitor comes with 3 separate interfaces: HDMI, VGA and display port. When I put them all in the monitor image was way too low of a resolution, print was enormous and it was unusable. I tried multiple strategies to fix it. What worked was just unplugging the VGA and the HDMI. so it's working beautifully with just the display port interface. The installation instructions show you plugging in all three. Camera and microphone are fine.
Super elegant monitor with a built in webcam and brilliant speakers., but that's it. Something is wrong with the model since I bought 2 of them and had to return both to Amazon and Staples. One had no sound and the other which always had a buzzing sound even when the speakers were off. Despite that the speakers are very powerful when you play music or videos.
Problems: 1) Extremely complicated menu. 2) Picture quality is poor across all settings modes. 3) Very fragile. Any touch to adjust the screen height or angle disconnects the picture 4) No real support from HP for this model. Spent hours with HP support on 2 occasions and they had no clue or knowledge about the model and preferred that I just return it instead of dealing with the issues. It made me wonder if it is a real HP product or just something that someone else made and licensed the HP name.
I purchased this solely because of the webcam/microphone to do Zoom sessions on a large screen because my current screen didn't have a webcam. I kept my current LG screen and hooked both up to my desktop computer. The ability to hide the webcam (it pops in and out of the top) is the only thing I like about it. However the quality and resolution of the images on the screen (particularly photos) is far inferior to my LG screen. The sound quality is also just ok. This was a bit of a disappointment, however I guess it serves its purpose with built in webcam and microphone for Zoom sessions. To me it is overpriced for the quality. I just don't have time or patience to pack it up and return it.
