We have tried three different DVD players and this is by far my favorite one. The units themselves feel pretty sturdy and i love the straps that hold them to the headrests. My favorite part about these is that the buttons are on the sides rather than the bottom so harder for little ones to reach with their toes. I also love that the volume on these is great. We keep it about 4 or 5 and even my kids in the back row can hear it just fine. Picture quality is really good, and we use the USB to play a long list of movies so that I don't have to change out DVDs and the kids get a good variety. THe AV cord that came with this on is also far better than the other brands. This one is about $40 more than the other brands but well worth it!
We have taken the DVD players on 3+ trips now. We cannot say enough good things about them. We have had several pairs of these, and none have compared. From shipment and original packaging, we have not had any issues. The DVD players do everything they say they do. The GREATEST feature is the battery charge. You don't have to have these plugged in the entire trip. When convenient, have them plugged in and battery will charge to 5 hour or so life. This also allows you to bring into hotel and watch movies outside of the car. Other valuable features is the stop / start memory. Movies are saved to previous spot when turned off. Lastly, the control options are easy for the kids. After about 2 movies each, they can handle loading, earphones, pause, play, and power. Youngest is 5, and we don't have to be looking back to help with movie changes or controls. Our budget was not the asking price, but we splurged a bit because we make a 16 hour / 32 hour round trip each year for spring break and this item has been the best so far in it's category.
The only thing you really need to know about these portable DVD players is that it works and never skips. The movies also start where you left off. My only gripe is that both remotes that came with the set work with both DVD players. That said, when one kid wants to do something with their player, the other player also does the same thing.
The first 5 times of use (owned since 8/1/18) the players worked great ... NOW one has no sound when playing and customer service does not reply even though it has a 12 month warranty with them. Might be better off going to Best Buy so you can easily exchange within the 12 month warranty they have on electronics
I did a lot of research when looking to add some dvd players/screens to the SUV my wife just bought. Originally I was planning on installing a drop down unit in the headliner as I know a bit about car electronics and entertainment installation. Then she saw the headrest with built in screens, which still sound like they might be a decent option, but I opted to get and try these as they are cheaper and larger screens.
Overall I am very pleased. Startup is pretty quick so fussy kids dont have long to complain about their movie not playing. The volume is actually really good (especially if you have the second unit mirroring the first and turn both up) even if it's not as clear/powerful as an integrated entertainment center.
We use the AV cable to mirror the dvd between players for the most part, but I have tested out using both players solo and it's not bad. Might be less desirable on a long road trip to hear two separate movies going, but my kids have their own headphones that plug in and work just fine.
The brightness is great, here in Hawaii it can get bright and even with the windows open and bright light coming in the car the screens are easily visible. The overall user friendliness is great. Works just like any other dvd player I've owned for indoor use, remotes work at a good distance, but keep in mind the units dont care which remote is used. So if you're trying to only turn one off or volume up/down or change mode make sure you're pointing at the one you want to change.
Only downside is that these units are not intended for permanent installation so the cables are just kind of out in the open. It might have been nice to have some extra length to try and run them up/down the seats in a little channel or something. But it's not the end of the world. I love that there was an option for a battery powered version so we can even use them indoors like hotels/restaurants etc...
I am beyond pleased as this kit has made car rides much easier for our autistic son who can get quite restless or overwhelmed on longer car rides. I would definitely recommend this. If you have extra money to spend this company even has a blu-ray version. I just didn't want to spend the extra $200 as I have most of my kids' movies in digital format as well which saves space and the card reader on this model works just fine.
I did also buy the extra holders for this set since it makes the players easier to install/remove since you can leave the holders in the car.

Pros: Perfectly sized pockets & pouches, well padded, fits dvd player with all cords, remote, headphones & manuals, plus four dvds comfortably. The bag is lightweight & condenses down nicely. Great carrying options with the handle or removable shoulder strap. Love the front flap closure & the fact that compartments are nicely separated into useful zones.
Cons: Sometimes the zipper ‘misfires’ or skips a tooth. So one must be careful in closing zippers, simply enduse the teeth line up properly. So far this issue hasn’t caused any ‘problems
Overall. It has totally been worth the purchase, exceeds my need & expectation.
(I can even leave my blue-ray/dvd player in the bubble wrap it came in & everything closes up perfectly) *view photos*

Super easy to set up and install into 2028 RX350. My daughter and her friend are loving it. Velcro headrest mount is not that strong but it is functioning as advertised.

Love having the ability for each DVD player to play its own video. This was really helpful on the road trip with young kids with different preferences and needs. Worked great for audio books too!
I am very happy with this product! I bought it to use in our vehicle for our son. The picture quality is great. I think the volume is good. It even has a remote. We even took it on our flight for him to watch and it was perfect!
