I’m a huge fan of Oribe products, but this isn’t the most effective. I’ve been using the shampoo and conditioner for a couple weeks now and I’m not really noticing a difference. Great scent, but I’m definitely going to need to find a better product for my scalp
I used this product twice, but I am returning it. It smells pretty, but it irritated my Scalp and caused an increase in dandruff and oil, which left my hair feeling itchy and heavy. I do suggest you try it, but be aware you may need to return it based on your own results.
The scent is pure heaven! This seems like a good shampoo, although I can’t really tell it’s done anything different or helped my flaky scalp problem. Summer is always bad from the sun, so I’m on the hunt for a GOOD product that really works. Don’t think this one was it, sadly. I cant get over how amazing the smell is tho!
As much as I LOVE the scent and the bottles (they’re gorgeous and very well made) it has not helped my dry scalp at all. I had high hopes for this, but other than that it’s a great shampoo. Just wouldn’t recommend using this as a primary solution to dandruff/dry scalp issues.
For the past few years, every winter my scalp gets dry, itchy, and flaky. I found an $8 shampoo plus conditioner that I was happy with. I could use it two or three times a week and have no flakes and no itching.
When I had the chance to try this shampoo from Oribe, I couldn't resist. This year, my itchy scalp persisted well into the spring and summer. I think it may be in part to a new job with excessive air conditioning and dry skin. This is a small bottle of shampoo with a big price tag. It smells great and produces a rich, thick lather. It's a very nice shampoo and I had high hopes.
However, the shampoo doesn't work as well as I had hoped. It doesn't work on my itchiness as well as my inexpensive dandruff shampoo. The active ingredients are different. I think if your dandruff is caused by what is basically scalp acne, this might work better for you. It sounds gross, but it's a kind of dandruff related to acne that two of my teens had.
I wanted to love this shampoo, but for dandruff or itchiness it hasn't done anything for me. I It's a lovely shampoo, but I will need to stick to my cheapo drug store stuff.
I decided to give this shampoo a try because I’ve heard that dandruff shampoos are often gentler on hair than traditional shampoos. I love Oribe products… The fragrance alone is worth the cost – it’s just heavenly. Unfortunately, I found this shampoo on the dry side which is the opposite of what I needed. I should’ve stayed with the “brilliance and shine” line. The products in that line are top-notch, the best-of-the-best. My apologies for not being able to report how it performs with dandruff, but I think it’s important to know that it is not moisturizing for any kind of hair. I’ll continue to use it, but only once in a while, and only for the beautiful aroma! ~Amy
In general, I think it’s best to seek out a dermatologist’s opinion, as dandruff and scalp irritation is a medical problem, but here is my experience.
I have very mild dandruff and a small spot of seborrheic dermatitis which I occasionally use a medicated tar based dandruff shampoo for. It works great, however it leaves my hair dried out and I prefer not to use it more than once a week. I have also used leading low ph department store dandruff shampoo’s which helps to manage it but doesn’t get rid of it. The Oribe Serene-scalp shampoo, fell right in the middle of my previous dandruff shampoo results.
Pros: -takes care of dandruff and doesn’t dry out hair -amazing trademark scent. To me, his has a light and fresh floral scent
Cons: -this worked on my dandruff but didn’t help with the seborrheic dermatitis -the scent is amazing but washes right out. After the shower, you won’t smell it in your hair anymore
Overall, this worked well for the dandruff, but didn’t do much for an irritated scalp.

This definitely makes my scalp feel less itchy. I don't have dandruff but I do have itchiness. It smells nice - apparently its the signature oribe fragrance. Its included in the details that its safe for color treated hair, which I have. It makes my hair feel soft and less flyaways. No parabens or sulfates which is great. With that being said, this is a small bottle of shampoo and it works like any shampoo for an itchy scalp. I would never pay more than 5 bucks for something like this, yet its almost ten times that. If you want to splurge, its a really nice shampoo.
