After using an SI belt at physical therapy I was looking for a pregnancy friendly belt to help support my low back while still being comfortable to wear while pregnant. I am updating my review from my previous 1-star. I figured out that this belt has to be placed on your belly just so in order for it to be tight enough around your waist. I had several failed attempts (there are no instructions with this product) but the Velco should line up on your left side which allows you to adjust. The thing I like most about this belt is that it is breathable and I can wear it at night without over heating. I also think even though it is a thicker material it is not very visible under most of my summer clothing (that is pretty tight). For reference I am 5'2'' and bought this at the end of my 2nd trimester. Original waist was 27 inches. This is worth the price point just to try. I also suggest giving it a few days to work along with whatever stretches, change of shoes, chiropractic care you are receiving to all work together to help.
The band works well for me for support and comfort. WAY better than two other popular styles of bands that I've tried. The problem is that I am plus size, largely so, and I have an apron belly. Bands that I've tried or viewed just don't support a plus size belly or don't fit. My only complaint with this one is that I am only 23 weeks and have a ways to go, but I can BARELY get the sides to overlap and velcro together. For now, if I just pull the back of the band higher towards my waist, I can get it latched together. As I get larger, I won't be able to, but I have my own fix I'm going to do because this is honestly the best belly band I've found for a plus size apron belly I have been able to find! So, plus size mamas, I love it, you'll probably love it, but you may have to get a panel of fabric that sticks to velcro, then add velcro to the opposite side, to make up the size difference. It's a pain to do, but SO worth it to me to have a band that actually supports and fits my belly, and I don't have to constantly adjust it every time I go from sitting to standing or vice versa. For reference, I am 5'4" and 290, so I'm a big girl!
It provides great support for the lower back while having to stand and do chores around the house.
Once it’s off, the pain comes back after a while
I’m 31 weeks pregnant and I notice the belly band slips some up my stomach. I don’t know if it’s because my belly isn’t big enough for it to fully fit me properly. It’s a quick fix though, I just readjust as needed
I wasn’t really sure where to place the belt and how low I should go, but once I found the right spot it was a game changer! My baby sits the lowest she possibly can and digs into my pelvis done so naturally there’s ALOT of pain and this belt relieves so much of it. The only thing I would say is especially when you wear it like a medium tight like I do and you wear it for long periods of time, slowly take it off when it’s time because it hurts when you just rip it off! So just take it slow! Currently 25 weeks.
I purchased this for relief on my pelvic area at 23 weeks initially it worked for me and i was happy with the support I’m now 26 weeks and woah baby what a difference . I have to strap the band really tight to feel supported. The reviews i read said it wasn’t visible under clothes but mine is and at times it rides up which is annoying . It’s a comfortable material and overall it’s worth the price to be able to get some comfort for walking and grocery store runs.
My doctor recommended me to use a supporting belt,in my 8th month of pregnancy, because I had back issues and I just couldnt find a spot from back pain. I decided to to get this one, but I just find it uncomfortable for this stage of pregnancy, feels like it puts more pressure than actually relieving me from the pain, but that's for me. It is NOT A BAD PRODUCT at all, and I am attempting to actually use it after I give birth, to actually support and keep my belly tight.
I am 27 weeks pregnant and have been suffering some lower back pain for the past month and a half due to muscle spasms. It was suggested that I get a back brace and this one came highly recommended via Amazon reviews. I have been wearing it for the past month, but honestly I felt relief the instant I put it on! It really has helped me a lot! Unfortunately my back pain seems like it’s here to stay for the rest of my pregnancy, but I shudder to think at how much worse it would be without this brace! This brace enables me to move around a lot more comfortably, which is key because I have a two-year-old that I take care of full time! So thanks Nu momz!
This is the first support belt I haven't hated! It's easier to get on than the ones that are two pieces, and soft. I've been struggling to find one that works for me (~210 lbs, 21 weeks pregnant, pant size 1X/16/18) because the ones I've tried were either zero support or just squeezed my belly fat up and over the belt. This one lifts and cradles my belly. The only downside is that it does tend to bunch/fold sometimes. But for the price, it's worth it.
It's not great for sitting in, but on days when I'm having round ligament pain and things, it's great to put on while I'm out doing errands and working around the house. Helps support and easy to conceal under clothing.
This helps a LOT to support growing belly. I was wearing it just straight on my skin but my skin got a little itchy after a while from this...though that might just be related to stretching skin itch. Overall i think its important for every pregnant woman to have one of these!
