-UPDATE #2- half season in, approx 600 miles of sand/mud/dirt/abuse on a full-suspension all-mountain bike with SRAM NX drive train. I have had no breaks or problems and no measurable stretch. The are a few rust spots, but I didn't properly dry the Chain after a wet ride (plus I use dry wax not oil) so that's on me. Hoping this lasts the entire season, and it seems like it will! Still, I won't hesitate to get a new one next spring, knowing I'll have a full year of hard riding with no problems! So pleased by this chain after breaking multiple SRAM 12 speed chains, especially at a competitive price point.
-UPDATE- Went for another ride today since the weather is so nice. Hit some flow trails and the chain held up to all the sprinting/climbing/jumping/slapping/abuse that type of trail presents a bike. Super pleased so-far!
-ORIGINAL POST- So far so good! After breaking an Eagle 12 speed NX chain, and the subsequent GX chain (neither one at the master link either!) with less than 50 miles on either, (despite care taken to not shift under load, etc) I was about to switch to a 1x10 setup (in favor of the thicker chain) when I decided to give KMC a chance since it worked very well on my old bike with a 1x8 setup. Took new bike with this KMC chain for a 22 mile ride today and really reefed on the pedals rather than downshifting up lots of short but steep hills. No broken chain, not even a need to adjust the derailleur. Shifts just as smooth as with the Eagle chains. I'd prefer a darker color but that's just me. Initial quality looks impeccable, I will definitely update if anything breaks or I experience early stretch etc.
I can report full compatability with a 2020 Campagnolo 12-speed drivetrain, and installation is a snap with the quick link system -- way better than the provided Campy chain. However, the KMC is quite noisy above the 17 cog. I finally installed the Campy 12 speed chain and all noise is gone (the Campy chain is a hair narrower at 5.15mm).
If you're OK with a little noise on 52/17 and above, the KMC works well and is a far easier installation than the Campagnolo chain.
