To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The biggest issue with this leveler is the lip. It causes grinds to get caught up in there which you end up losing. if you forget to knock out those grinds, you run the risk of old grinds getting into your fresh grinds. This also leads to a mess. My 2nd issue which isn't that big of a deal is the top part becoming loose. You have to tighten back it up ever so often. Looking back I would have rather spent a little more to get a better unit.
For leveling it does fine, but I don’t think it’s distributing the coffee evenly, as it just moved around the top few centimeters. But if you are real picky and concerned with the level of the coffee in relation to the horizon of the portafilter, then this should satisfy.
Very easy to adjust, but I couldn’t detect any difference in my espresso. I AM a Neanderthal though, so who knows. This is pretty cheap compared to some others, and they ALL do the same thing, so this one over the others IMO. It’s a gadget, you love gadgets?
