I love the idea of this guacamole keeper however if you have just 1 or 2 small servings (like under 1/2 cup) you want to save it would be impossible to preserve in this keeper is the lid doesn't push down the far.
I find a very small container with some plastic wrap covering the surface of the guacamole and then the lid on top of that is more efficient to keep it airtight.
This container would be better for a larger amount of guacamole, in which case I would use a regular serving dish anyway, and normally serving a larger amount for more than a couple of people is likely to get used up right away eliminating the need for a storage option.
This product seemed to work pretty well when making 3 or more avocados worth of guacamole but not very good for small quantities (I tend to make 1 or 2 avocado's worth at a time). I wish this came in a smaller container. The rubber seal lip also has a slit in it - not sure if it came that way and if on purpose but I noticed it after 1st use. It is a bit challenging to get the lid to slide down into the container in a straight position and also a bit challenging to pull it out. To be honest, I think my old method of putting a bit of lime juice and plastic wrap against the top surface of guacamole works just as well as this container.
This product is amazing for guacamole spread in general. I gave the three stars because there needs to be a half size to this five star product. This is for a couple days worth at a small restaurant. When there’s enough for one person to have a couple spreads left, it just doesn’t work right. Smaller size might eliminate the problem, but an air release hole on the bottom would help as well, as some oxygen gets trapped in air pockets that inevitably form when trying to compress it less than at least half way. Which is about four avacados worth of spread. Great contraption that no other quite serves the purpose of, but at least a smaller size would make it closer to perfect
This would be much better if it was half the size. I don't know how much guacamole the average person keeps around, but I don't need this much. The size makes it hard to manage and seal smaller (typical) quantities. I would buy this again if it was half the diameter, but as it is now we hardly ever bother with it.
The deal for me was that I would NEVER have the amount of guacamole left that this container holds thereby making it totally impractical. Otherwise, it’s totally as advertised and could be a nice addition to anyone’s kitchen storage options. I ended up returning it.
It does work if... 1. you level out the guac on top 2. push straight down (it is easy to be not level) I do wish they are a little bit smaller. I would never use that much guac, even if I am having a party.
I really wanted to love this. The storage capacity is good and it’s made of sturdy plastic BUT it doesn’t keep my guacamole/avocado from turning brown by the next day. I followed directions but no help.
