To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
So the stand for the headset works just fine, its stable enough and easy to put together so not much to really detract from it. Although maybe a little pricey for what you get but that's pretty subjective.
The problem I ran into (and apparently quite a few others based on reviews) is the pieces they sent for the Oculus Touch controllers are wrong, they're designed to fit the Vive controllers. Which is really odd because the product page says for the Oculus, the side of the box says Oculus, and even the slip inside the box says Oculus. Seems like someone just threw the wrong parts into the packaging. To add insult to this I'm not even able to find a contact number for the seller to request the correct parts be sent.
As I said before the stand is fine, nothing special but more than serviceable, just don't be shocked if you have the wrong parts when you unbox it.
The box also shows it can handle vive as well, but yeah I kind thought this was too good to be true. But I even searched for vive stands and this came up on amazon search and I fell for the headset only compatible bit. Still not bad although base station just for headset is 21 so I kind of over paid a few bucks not enough send back though. Just be aware it says vive compatible but its not.
The shelf lips to hold the controllers aren't high enough because the tracker rings on a Rift S are beveled. This means they easily just slide/fall off if you brush them gently. The stand is extremely lightweight and easy to knock over. I don't really feel that my VR set is any safer because of this, in fact I'm more worried of it falling now because the stand is just keeping it above the ground and unstable. But at least it's not on the floor? I guess?
