I installed the phone mount a couple of days after I received it. I did not use it everyday, only 4-5 times a week. It worked good for about 6 weeks. Then it started to not hold it’s position. I would get it adjusted how I wanted it, but it would start slipping out of position. I have readjusted and tightened the holder but the arm will no longer stay where I position it. Very cheaply made. I wish it had stopped working before the return deadline. I really only used it for about 5 weeks before it not longer worked. I would NOT recommend this product!
The instructions did not explain how I was to put the ball joint (about the size of a large gumball) into a socket that was less than half its size. I looked on EVERY page of the instructions...nothing! It didn't make sense to go any further to try and use this product, so I returned it. Really a shame, as it looked like the perfect thing for my mobile in my car. But if a company is going to be so cheap as to not even explain how to put their product together...what's the use?
This product did not hold my iPhone. I had to extend the arm to mount it in a place that wouldn’t obstruct my view and it never stayed “locked” in position. I used it for a few weeks like this. My phone just sat clipped in the mount but hung so low it rested on my dash. Then I guess my windshield got too hot one day and it just came unstuck and I couldn’t get it to reattach. The “sticky gel” that was attached to the suction part of the mount would no longer stick so now it’s useless. It’s currently in my desk because I can’t return it anymore. Yay....what a waste😑
Car phone holder would not stick to dash board. On 2/10/2010 I received a letter stating to get a refund and $30 Amazon gift to enter this email firstname.lastname@example.org. It got me no where. there is no such email address.
I bought two of these one for my husband and myself and both of them broke and we haven’t even use them for a month. I would not recommend these out of the box they seem sturdy but I do have an even used mine three times and it’s broken. The screw that keeps it from sliding out doesn’t fit properly or at all. Can’t use it if it’s going to be sliding out and falling down so I guess this was a waste of money.
***UPDATED REVIEW*** After using the product three times, the arms will no longer stay closed securing the phone in place. One of the arms slowly opens and then the phone is able to fall out. The tape also did not hold to the dash. It was installed 2 weeks ago, and only used three times before becoming useless. The suction cup is great, holds well, the design is nice, but not sturdy, the product is cheaply made and became unusable in less than two weeks and three uses.
Product is nicely designed, I like the way it extends and the many different ways it can be mounted and turned. The main drawback I see to this is that it doesn’t hold the phone as secure as I would like and I am not totally comfortable turning it horizontally. I have an iPhone XR and it sits a bit high in the mount, so I feel it isn’t as secure as it could be unless it is vertical. It is a little shaky, but it holds decently enough that it works.
The two prongs at the bottom that hold the phone in dont move so when my phone is in the holder it does not allow for my headphone jack to be used for my car stereo. Will be returning. Also the suction only lasted a few minutes then it fell while driving.
I was disappointed in this product since it has so many good reviews. To be fair, perhaps the reason it didn’t work well for me is bc it’s not equipped to handle the newer, heavier models of iPhones with a case (XR & otterbox case). And, I didn’t use the sticky adhesive, only the suction BUT I am glad that I didn’t bc the suction has left a permanent ring on my dashboard after only 2-3 weeks so I can only imagine the damage that would be done with an adhesive material. I was planning to return the product but the window has closed, so it sucks I wasted my money. Buyers beware - if you do purchase, test the product out as soon as you get it and return quickly if it doesn’t work for you. Honestly though, I don’t recommend you risk permanent damage to your vehicle for a product that probably won’t even work!
The unit adhered to the dashboard for a week or two and then came off. I could not get it to stick it back on.
The bigger problem is that it's too high up vertically. This means any lateral movement, which is common even in a slow-moving vehicle, will cause it to wobble. Even if the adhesion remained, it would still be useless because the design is so clumsy.
I have since purchased a different brand that has a unit that's low and flat, adheres well to the dashboard, and works like a charm: "WIFORT Car Phone Holder Dashboard Non-Slip,Universal Car Mount for Mobile Phone,Car Cell Phone Holder Hand Free for iPhone 11 pro max Xs Max XR X 8 7 Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus S9 S8, and More".
I have never had any ties, financial or otherwise to Maxboost or Wifort (or any other manufacturer for that matter).
