There are two types of brioche. One is sandwich like texture (usually sold in supermarkets) and the other is pillowy and soft, you can pull it out in strands. The second one is the real deal. The first recipe I tried was the brioche. This brioche turned out way too buttery(as if you're eating butter) with sandwich like texture. With disappointment, I returned the book.
Very very very disappointed! It’s very rare for me to write bad reviews and i do have to say some recipes. Felt like things were missing... I tried the strawberry white chocolate scone recipe and it was impossible I had to add more liquid and it resulted in over mixing and it just did not turn out well! I definitely am returning this!
Was excited for this book. First two things I made there were errors in recipe. Very disappointing, I feel that I would not use this book again for fear of wasting ingredients and time. They should offer refunds or get correction lists out quick!
Most of the recipes I bookmarked have major ingredients missing (or wrong amounts listed). The strawberry scones can't be made with 3 tbsp cream as the only liquid. It's lucky I googled the recipe to see that Republique bakery posted this recipe on their website with the correct amount of cream. But there's a few more recipes that I bookmarked that call for ingredients in the instructions that are not listed in the section above.
