The diameter of the stands steel is smaller than expected. Does not seem like it will last. I bought one a year ago and it didn't last more than about 2 months of use. This one seemed like it would be better based on the advertising but when it arrived it was less robust than the one it replaced. I don't imagine it will last.
When it first came it was a bit on the flimsy side and wouldn't go in straight.. The clips on the top were absolutely impossible to slide around the curved rod so I didn't use them at all. However it seemed to be doing the job to hold a fabric flag even on a windy day. After less than a month I went to adjust it and the middle attachment is rusting and the two pieces are no longer secure. I'm very disappointed. Definitely unfortunate flaws.
The metal thickness is sturdy (maybe 12 or 10 AWG?) and my flag fits on it nicely. The look is great and was easy to install in the ground. But putting it together was surprising tough as it is only 3 pieces that screw together. Though the threading didn't looking stripped at all, I ended up have to get some pliers to hold one part while screwing the other part in. If you do this, be sure to use something to protect the metal so it doesn't get scratched. I used some spare foam drawer liner I had. Once together, though, it looks good and I expect it will last for a long time. I'll just never take it apart for storing in the winter.
Easy to assemble. However, the extra clip does nothing to keep the flag still. Additionally, the extra things on the top don’t do much either, as the hole for the flag is bigger than them, so it just slips over it. However, it does seem sturdy and hasn’t broken in wind. Just worried my flag will blow off, as that’s why I bought this one.
Sadly this product has not been a win for me. It is rather flimsy and I have had to fix or adjust the flag on this pole at least a dozen times in 3 weeks. The clip that is supposed to hold the flag is not very strong and that whole piece slides up the flag even with a slight to moderate wind. I have an old flag stand I bought 3 years ago that does the job much better.
This flag stand is a great height and was fairly easy to put together. I am not happy with how easily it spins even in the slightest wind. Looks great when it is not windy, but if you live anywhere windy, I would choose a heavier stand.
All the parts came but it was impossible to put either flag stopper on the frame. They fit on but would not go around the curve. Hoping the assembly clip will hold the flag in place but I have my doubts. Wish I had another assembly clip to put up higher on the pole. Think that would solve the problem.
