Purchased this game as an add on to our osmo system for our 6 year old. The game is very fun and the artwork is beautiful. The detective "briefcase" box is an adorable detail, and the different colourful maps are nice and thick, surely to withstand the test of time. I purchased from this seller because it was definitely the cheapest pricing from all other stores. Shipping was timely, but I had to remove 2 stars because the seller did not put the game in any sort of protective packaging. The mail labels were stuck directly onto the game's box, and it arrived dented, scuffed, and the stickers are impossible to remove. I definitely don't recommend purchasing from this vendor if you are looking to give this as a gift.
My 3rd grader loves Osmo pizza parlor and the coding games. She was super excited for the detective game, but after playing it once she shelved it saying it was a disappointment. Main complaints were not interesting enough (aka not very challenging) and all you do is look for stuff on the map placemat. This game might be better for younger kids (under 8years old). Too bad, because the geography and detective premises are a great idea and appealing to many klds.
This is definitely for younger child. I gave this to my 7yr old for Xmas and put it on the hard level. It literally is the "where is Waldo" type of game with occasional facts thrown in. I would have never bought this if I would have know this was the kind of game.
I must say that it’s rather boring and repetitive. A place appears on a screen and you have to find it on the map. There’s nothing truly engaging there. It’s our least favorite Osmo game. We’d not buy it again.
