The material seem very durable, and the design it’s practical and accomplished however it has flaws: 1 the side Pockets are not big enough to fit a water bottle of normal size without stretching the he’ll out of them and doing. Lot of force, no practical. 2 the bad I received is dawn totally out of symmetry, is twisted and it looks cheap and weird, no the quality finish you would expect For the price you pay. 3 i think it could do with smaller front pocket and internal mesh for power adapters.
In summary I was disappointed with it and I will be return it.
However it may work for you, for me is not worth the money.
Well thought out and I was initially very pleased with the product. I bought it for my son for a planned trip to USA and gave it to to him yesterday - he is travelling on Friday. As he put it on his back a fastening stud came apart and is no longer serviceable. Today he has sent me a photo (below) showing a cut in the shoulder strap. The concept is good but there is a failure of quality control with this product.
Too late to return it now so I have ordered a press stud replacement kit (£10.00) and will be getting out my sail repair kit on his return!
I was searching for the ideal "all-around" backpack, something I can use as both luggage for a short trip or backpacking through Europe, all while having convenient and quick access to things. I thought this might be the winning bag, after researching a few. Here are my thoughts:
Pros: Great pockets. Cool design. Cons: It's surprisingly stiff. The zippers are stiff. The water bottle side pockets are stiff. The bag is stiff. If you overpack everything becomes even more stiff. The expandable portion is embedded within another zipper, making it a little cumbersome and awkward to use. The shoulder pads are not high quality.
Overall, the cons were dealbreakers for me and I will be returning. For higher quality and a durable bag, I would suggest looking into North Face or Patagonia.
I ordered this because i was looking for a backpack I could take on a one night business trip, no additional luggage. While it fit my tablet and accessories nicely, was just too tight once I added my clothes and workout shoes. If I'd expanded it, all would fit, but then couldn't put it under my seat. I suppose I'd I didn't have shoes for working out, it would have been fine. I went back to ysi g my gym bag and a laptop sleeve instead. If you're looking to cut down on luggage, give it a look, but be careful.
This backpack has met all my needs! Comfortable, spacious, easy to organize.. HOWEVER, I've had it just about 6 months and the zipper broke... I guess it's not meant to be a daily pack. Other than that this pack has been fantastic
I travel once a month and needed a quality backpack to use as my personal item on flights. The bag looks great, but after only 5 uses the zipper broke. And to make matters worse the zipper broke at the airport on the 1st day of my honeymoon. VERY disappointing and frustrating.
Backpack comfort was great and perfect for flying. Fit great in the overhead compartment. However, when trying to clip the chest strap, it immediately broke and can no longer be secured across my chest. Returning it for that reason, but some people might not see that as a big defect.
I bought the Sterkmanns Business Backpack because the Nomatic was out of stock and picture wise it looks pretty damn good (and even a little more „professional“). After testing both I decided to keep the Nomatic Back despite the price. And because there is not a single comparison between both bags online, here is one & also side by side pictures :)
TL;DR: The Sterkmanns is ok copy of the nomatic back, but does not reach the quality (and I think the durability) of the nomatic. It also lacks some of the (main/coolest) features.
Nomatic Pros: - far better zippers (the bag itself and also the compression bag) - waist strap included - RFID Pocket - soft material in the tablet & laptop compartment - more Pockets in the main compartment - lockable Zippers - kind of tech compartment in front of the bag which is, to be honest, one of the main reasons to keep the nomatic. Because this compartment is super practical to keep stuff which you want to access easily (even if the main compartment is completely full. E.g. a Bike Lock, Access Cards (In the RFID Safe Pocket), … In the Sterkmanns this is included in the laptop compartment -> less pockets to keep your stuff organised - bottleholder can fit bigger bottles and consists of a mesh like material while on the Sterkmanns it’s only a strap (which doesn’t feel super durable) - keyholder which can be accessed through the additional zipper on the bag (you can open the main compartment either completely or just the sides) - in general higher quality in both material and processing
Nomatic Kons: - price
Sterkmanns Pros: - Price - includes a laundry bag (looks like a dry bag) - second „hidden“ pocket on the back of the backpack. But the „hidden“ pockets are easily accesseble while someone wears the backpack. So lets say it has 2 normal pockets on the back
Sterkmanns Kons: - zippers don’t feel smooth to use, they always get stuck
