Great for Coffee Snobs on the Go
Reviewed in Australia on 15 December 2019
I'm a bit of a coffee snob and often take a coffee machine with me on holidays. It has been a bit of a pain lugging bigger machines around in my baggage and this little baby is the solution for me. I have extensively tested it out with ground coffee beans and Nespresso pods and it passes the taste and portability test. It is small, doesn't require any power (just boiling water and coffee).
It was a little tricky to work out at first, as the included instructions are not great. Once I worked out how to use it though - fantastic. I prefer ground beans over pods and this machine does both! A little tip for those who are going to use Nespresso pods, remember to punch 3 holes in bottom of the pod and press the pod (really) firmly into the pod holder of the machine so that it fully pierces / punctures the foil lid. If you don't push the pod down firmly and pierce the foil properly you get terrible coffee (so make sure you do). I worked this out the hard way (after destroying 4 pods) through trial and error. Another thing that was not in the instructions that you will need to know is that the pumping bit is concealed in the top section, you need to twist it to get the pump to come up, so you can begin pumping by hand.
Overall the quality of the machine is good, it is easy to use (once you work it all out) and it is compact, convenient, able to use ground beans and Nespresso pods and makes a great coffee with good crema - recommend!
