I have never used bands like these before. I always used the Goody type elastics. When I pulled these out, I was not sure I could use them, or how. I tried them out and love them. I have thick hair and they work wonderfully.
These hair ties are little wimpy ones appropriate for children's hair. I was looking for very strong ones for thick hair, as these were described. And they are expensive. These are far from it. You are better off searching and seeing in retail stores to find the right kind.
I purchased these based on other reviewers stating that these were good for masks. I found quite the opposite. Without stretching them, they barely fit around the ear. Once you stretch them, they pull the ear cartilage forward and roll off the ear. I have made many masks using all kinds of elastics and ties. These are too small and provide a poor fit for masks. I have provided images using the ponytail holders in a mask and comparing to using elastic in the same mask. They are however, great for their original use: as ponytails holders.
I am surprised by these. They really do stretch, and I can get it around my super thick hair many times. I have very long and very thick hair and so far, it’s kept my pony up and tight for several hours walking around the house. I hope it holds up for more than a few uses
Soft, stretchy, great hold for thick hair, and they don't stretch out too much after the initial wear. I really like these. They don't break my hair as often as other hair ties. However, they are pretty thick so if you're trying to do certain styles, like a bun, this might be a little too thick and you'll want to keep using thinner hair bands.
I stumbled upon burly bands a while ago. I love them. Bought some for my friends and they love them too. I saw these and thought I’d try them. The price looked right but you get what you pay for. They’re thin and easily stretch out. The don’t bounce back. Burly bands give me a nice tight high pony tail. These just give me a non supported limp pony tail. I hope that made sense. Maybe they’d be ok for thin hair
