Great cart full of old classics. Some older 3rd party games from Midway or Activision would have been great but this is an Atari branded compilation so you know what you're in for at the start. A really nice nostalgia trip
This is a nice compilation with a fantastic presentation. I recommend this if you want to experience some classics, discover some games you may have missed, or experience some classic games in new ways. Amazing nostalgia and detail in this package.
As soon as I got this arcade collection for the Switch, I busted out my parachute pants, my walkman and started sliding through the game list while doing the moonwalk! While that was amazing in itself (but not the leg cramp) I could not find Gauntlet, Pole Position and a few other gnarly games of legend. I'm still forking over 5 stars because there are some sweet games in the collection but, really, "whatchu doin', Willis?" by not including those uber pimp titles?
There are atari collections on other consoles but I wanted to be able to play it in handheld. These games take me back to my young gaming days. If you don't have the nostalgia, I honestly don't know how much appeal they may have to younger gamers who play visually stunning games like Uncharted, Spiderman, etc. But there are a good number of classic games that are on the more simplistic style of fun. So for the unsure, I'd wait till it's $15 or so. For the nostalgic gamers, It's worth $30.
The ungodly hours spent playing these incredibly simplistic games.... the frustration, the memories with friends, wonderful nostalgic feelings, but it’s a shame they didn’t bother spending some money to release decent joysticks or paddles. They could have made even more money off of accessories.
