This stuff is magic for my frizzy, curly hair! Light and conditioning, I spray it on my wet hair, and magically, my curls stick together better, and are light and bouncy. My new favorite hair care product.
Miracle worker for curly hair. Makes it so much easier to get through your hair after showering. You have to go very light when applying this product and then I also blot dry afterwards to remove some of it. Another option is to dilute the bottle with water. Love the smell.
I looked up this brand on The Environmental Working Groups (EWG) Skin Deep data base & didn't find this exact product. The few products by this brand all rated poorly, as in toxic. I individually looked up the ingredients in this product only to discover that while it does have plenty of natural ingredients, it also has many toxic ingredients as well as hidden fragrance, which is my biggest concern. Until today I never heard of coumarin. When I'm looking to avoid fragrances in products, they usually say "fragrance" or "parfume". This is a sneaky move by AG Hair Care.
COUMARIN aka fragrance rates at a very high 7 for toxicity (10 being the highest). According to EWG, coumarin is a naturally occurring & synthetically produced scent chemical; associated with allergies & contact dermatitis. It's function is a masking fragrance. Synonym(s): 2H-1-BENZOPYRAN-2-ONE; 2H1BENZOPYRAN2ONE; TONKA BEAN CAMPHOR; 1,2-BENZOPYRONE; 2-OXO-1,2-BENZOPYRAN; 2H-1-BENZOPYRAN, 2-OXO-; 2H-1-BENZOPYRAN-2-ONE; BENZO-ALPHA-PYRONE; CIS-O-COUMARINIC ACID LACTONE; COUMARINIC ANHYDRIDE; CUMARIN
Other questionable, although slightly less toxic ingredients (they rate a 4 on EWG) are: malic acid BEHENTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE bis-(isostearoyl/oleoyl isopropyl) dimonium methosulfate - the closest I could find for this ingredient is: STEARYL OCTYLDIMONIUM METHOSULFATE
Greenwashing can make a company appear to be more environmentally friendly than it really is.
This is going in the garbage. When I want natural products, that's what I want, natural products. Not companies attempting to rip me off by misleading me to believe that they are selling something that is natural by nature.
Is this suppose to smell like coconut, because I didn't much more than the slightest hint of Coconut which was disappointing. There are some great ingredients in this product and then you keep reading and there are less favorable ingredients in this "Natural" product. What is that really suppose to mean? Natural Ingredients or Natural Hair? I have Fine hair, so I am not the Target Demographic for this, however I still was excited to try it because of the Coconut smell (which it completely lacked). I noticed nothing when I put this in my hair and even after I blew dry it. Seemed like I was just putting water (or chemicals) onto my hair with no pay-off. I think I will take a hard pass on this.
The first time that I used this I hadn't realized that you are supposed to shake it first. I also applied too much. I have fine hair and also didn't know at the time that this product is meant for full, thick hair. So the first time my hair looked oily. The second time was much better, just applied a little product, not all over and shook it well, I blew my hair dry and styled. It looked soft. The third time I applied the product and let my hair air dry, it looked good. It doesn't seem to leave my hair as clean looking as other spray conditioners that I have used. I also don't care for the strong chemical smell.
I had high hopes for this conditioning spray but honestly I think it’s jsut very average. I don’t hate it and will use the bottle up but I definitely wouldn’t buy it again or use it daily. The scent it’s kind of weird. It’s sort of a vanilla mint gum, like a white tic tac. I have fine hair and have found that with this spray, a little goes a long way and it only takes one spray too much to make my hair feel oily and weighed down. It does a decent job of detangling but there are better products out there. Maybe this would be better for someone with very thick and dry hair.
