5.0 out of 5 starsPortal travel through the multiverse
Reviewed in Australia on 15 April 2022
This is an excellent example of parallel worlds fiction that I found impossible to put down. The small group of Uni students and Physics nerds stumble upon the secret of multiverse travel just as events in the home Earth take a turn for the worse. Riveting and at times uplifting despite extinction level events. A thoroughly enjoyable adventure.

3.0 out of 5 starsGood story but seems unfinished
Reviewed in Australia on 3 September 2017
I enjoyed the story but this seem to be just the start of a story. Seems like room for it to be a lot longer . Maybe a trilogy there somewhere.

4.0 out of 5 stars Satisfying read

Easy read, nice mix of prepper (sorta) survivalism / post apocalypse / parallel universe physics and Yellowstone. I Don't regret buying the book, I like this author and this was just a reliable bit of escapism.

5.0 out of 5 stars As usual, a good read

As usual, Dennis has a good writing style that carries you through the book. Having read the I am Bob books I was hoping for more of the same, I was wrong but happily so. Although the topic is completely different the books flow gives a thoroughly enjoyable reading experience. Would recommend for any geeks or there.

Gaston Tonietti
5.0 out of 5 stars Not a new concept by any means but I think it was well executed
Reviewed in Australia on 26 December 2021
I feel like this book barely scratched the surface of the concept so I'm hoping to see more books in the series that expand on the story.

I enjoyed this a lot more than i thought I would.Stargate/apocalyptic/jurassic Park, not too serious or dark and depressing, some good laughs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long Earth meets Swiss Family Robinson.

Having listen to the story as read by the always sublime Ray Porter multiple times, and with a sequel upcoming, I finally had to read it.
This is a brilliant book from the author of the Bobiverse series, while not an original premise as it does seem to take a lot from Pratchett and Baxter's Long Earth series, it is a very enjoyable story, full of the author's wit and signature lines.
I look forward to the sequel.

I've enjoyed all of Dennis E Taylor's books. His characters are enjoyable and the story is well crafted. The main reason I like this author is because his stories have that element of believability. Look forward to reading more of his work in future.

Craig D. Boorman
5.0 out of 5 stars A good read

An enjoyable read. It reminds me of Steven Goulds Wild Side (in itself a good thing as I enjoyed that book very much), so if you read and enjoyed that you will like this one. Similar group of characters, same sort of alternate earth, even the same idea for financing things, but goes off in a very different direction and that works well. A bit more action driven and faster than Wild Side. Would like to see more of this type of story, from either author or others.

3.0 out of 5 stars The apocalypse is an engineering challenge
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 June 2021

This is a fairly breezy and entertaining read which is a bit of a mismatch for the apocalypse (courtesy of a Yellowstone super volcano) - which turns out to be just a premise for some neat heist/engineering hijinks. Packs the emotional punch of a unexpectedly disappointing car maintenance report.
