To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Overall it’s great and fun but the mat is seriously damaged and I bought it at Christmas to save for his birthday in January. That was a terrible idea because after he opened it we found the damage (which was sealed inside so it had to come from the factory that way) and I checked here immediately during the party only to see that we were just 2 days past the return day :( ugh it doesn’t work well without the mat. We’ve tried white paper but it’s not the same and the camera works best on the contrast from the mat with the red boarder.
What an awesome, creative idea. Bought this for 3.5-yr old grandson, but it's doesn't live up to it's price by any means. Although the letters are a good practice for him, there's not enough variety/interaction in the program to hold his attention. The storybook portion is not the best at responsiveness, many times he had the correct item but was slightly off on the placement and it wouldn't progress. The other drawing portion was way above his head. It's a shame you can't return due to dissatisfaction, but I guess I'm stuck with it. It'll go up on a shelf for another year, maybe some of it will interest him more at that time.
My daughter played with them fine, but mostly as cards. The whole iPad thing is too cumbersome, and frankly doesn’t do much. This is an expensive toy with tech for tech’s sake. But the simpler, no tech versions, and your kid will enjoy more.
