I have been wanting this reel for awhile so when I found it was available on Amazon, I snapped it up. 7 days later it arrives here in Australia. I spooled it up with 4lb braid and next day took it to a local lake. Flicked in a lure and felt it get hammered. Ended up pulling out a 40cm tilapia. The little C-10 handled the fish with ease. Absolutely no trouble at all. I already have the Ceymar C-25 so I knew the C-10 would be a good reel but it pretty much exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend this reel for anyone wanting an affordable quality ultralight reel. You can’t go wrong.

This is an amazing reel! I bought a Okuma Ceymar C30 and as of right now I have it paired up to a Shimano Stimula 6'6 rod, and 15# power pro line. For the price point, i honestly think it's hard to beat. I originally had a Kast King Sharky III and that was a good reel too, but after the bearings went out on it I decided it would be a good time to get a new reel. After browsing around and reading a few reviews, i pulled the trigger on this reel because it fit the price point, looking at the specifications it seemed like it was fairly light, and I loved the design of the reel itself. I was absolutley amazed by the reel, it was incredibly smooth, compared to my Kast King reel in the same size it was as if the Okuma was made out of air considering the weight difference, and I feel like with the Okuma I can feel a lot more strikes. I love to fish, but dropping $150+ for a higher end reel is not justifiable for me yet. This is an honest review, and I was really blown away by this reel. If youre a budget fisherman I would highly recommend this reel because you truly get more than what you pay for!

I honestly had no idea what a difference a reel could make. I replaced a Shakespeare reel of the same size that came with the Ugly Stix GX2 combo with the C-30, and I am more than pleased. I tried it first on my GX2 to see how they compared, then switched it to a new Fenwick Eagle. Pretty solid combo that I would recommend to anyone.
Casting is smoother and a bit further, but the retrieval is unbelievable. So smooth and sensitive. Fishing bottom rigs I could feel every pebble and weed. Fishing lures I could feel if a fish farted in the general vicinity of my lure. The only thing that upset me about the reel is that I didn't buy it sooner. If it holds up, I'll most certainly be buying the next size up for Salmon/Steelhead.
I purchased this reel after reading several reviews in fishing magazines boasting this was the top casting reel in the price range.
I was not disappointed with the product and it operated extremely smoothly on my medium duty rod. I found the bale came back very easily and is far more sensative than others I've owned which is typical of good quality reels. I would certainly buy Okuma again and am very satisfied with his purchase.

Singularly the best spinning reel I've owned so far! I'm a budget angler - low income with family, so fishing takes second or third place to other budget considerations (or 18th or 19th place sometimes), and I stretched out of my usual zone for this one. I'm so glad I did. From the minute I picked it up, I could feel a remarkable difference in quality compared to the dozens of Zebco, Shimano, Quantum and Piscifun reels I've had experience with in the past. This thing is built well! It's a solid reel with a fast retrieve. Drag is great, bail wire is just the right size, foot and arm are solid, and it feels good in the hand. Extremely light weight, super smooth, comfortable, and sexy looking too! I can't give enough praise to my Ceymar. I paired it with a Berkley Lightning Rod and it has held up to about 12-15 fish so far, including a nice 36" pike which fought like crazy! I look forward to catching many, many more.
The C-10 and C-30 reels are my second and third modern fishing reels after I decided to upgrade from a couple inherited reels that probably date from the early/mid-1980s at earliest.
In that context, I found them perfectly solid, lightweight, reliable reels - definitely more of a pleasure to use, and more solidly built than the plasticky modern $25 reel they replaced, and with nicer features and lighter weight than my vintage reels. I brought in my first salmon with the C-30 on 10lb braid main line/10lb fluorocarbon leader and didn't give any thought to the function of the reel as the fish went in several runs - which is the way you want it. I also brought in, and tons of small fish (suckers, baby trout, and sunfish) with the C-10.
This will be night and day for casting. I've spooled this up with very light line, 8lb test for trout fishing lakes, and put 30lb braid for river fishing salmon. No issues landing decent sized Coho, Pinks, Chum, and Bull Trout. Lake wise, you can cast this baby with pinpoint accuracy. Keep it clean, do some maintenance about once per season. Using this about 2-3 times per week in freshwater, I found it got a bit slow after 5-6 months. Just unspool, clean it up and it's good as new.
I've seen guides in the PNW are using this reel for Steelhead. It's a great all round reel. Don't cheap out over 10-20 bucks.
I bought this reel as a gift for my mom and was surprised at how well its made and functions. I have reels that cost 5 times this price and this reel easily competes with them. Its smooth and spools the line perfectly, even when reeling in slack line. Haven't had any loops yet. Using Berkley sensation line, 10lbs. This reel is great for someone with little fishing experience and will have little to no troubles with it.
I've caught a number of fish using this reel, from river salmon to large trout, and reeling them in is smooth and effortless. Casting is pretty good, and it's a great looking reel too. The construction feels pretty solid. It's a big upgrade from the cheap squeaky reel I was using before and worth the money. I definitely recommend this reel and will probably get another one.
Had no idea that my old reel felt so "rough". I looked forward to spooling it up just so I could feel the smooth action. :) Definitely falling in love with Okuma products! Ordered an Okuma Celilo rod for this reel too.
