This is my kitten Juniper's FAVORITE toy! She randomly started to play fetch and this is the only toy she plays fetch with. She's always carrying it around in her mouth. She's randomly woken me up by dropping this toy on my face because she wants to play fetch, haha. I'll definitely buy another one once the one I have gets worn out.
Y'all, I'll be the first to admit my cat is a spoiled brat. I'm certain he's actually human trapped in a cat's body. That said, he's the biggest toy snob ever. I've spent way more money than I care to admit on toys he turns his nose up at. But for $3 and change, I took my chance on this one. In the beginning, he looked at me like I was crazy, spending money on more "cat" toys. BUT after a few days I've caught him furiously batting this avacado around the house! He loves it! He's also a chewer/eater (no feathers on toys are allowed because he eats them). He's ripped at this toy like he's tearing it apart and it's still completely intact. I can't attest to the flossing of it, but it's keeping him occupied in the middle of the night when he wants to wake me sooo win win!!
Damn, these toys are cute, and as a Millennial I had to get this, because you know... avocados. I bought two and both of my cats are obsessed with them. Usually they'll both play with a toy for about a day and then get sick of it. Nope-these avocados are their favorite toys. They spend at least a half hour a day knocking them around and wrestling with them. I've noticed from the mesh (that cleans their teeth) that their breath is less stinky too. They are seriously so happy and fun/cute to watch with these adorable little toys. I haven't seen my kitties this so overjoyed with a toy before - so I'm going to be buying these avocados forever!
This arrived with two other catnip toys, as you can see from the photo, the fish and banana were bagged to keep fresh. This avocado was un-bagged, so I do not think its fresh considering however long its been in the warehouse and bouncing around in the cardboard shipping box with my other orders. Tiger, the grey tabby in the video, showed brief interest seemingly, but just swatted it once onto the floor (he'll do that to anything loose and swattable), but nothing after as evidenced in the video. None of our 3 cats showed any interest and they all love catnip. I cannot smell any catnip and I doubt there is much in this toy. I'll stick to the extra buck or two for the bananas and fish, where the cats go mad for them as they are packed with nip.
My cats love this toy! I was skeptical about it cleaning their teeth but it actually does because I catch my cats chewing and can see/hear the material working. Nothing cuter that a cat running around with this in their mouth.
I don’t buy my cats many toys because they tend to prefer playing with garbage and sitting in cardboard boxes despite the numerous countries and cat beds I purchased in the past. So when I actually do by cat toys you bet they are infused with catnip and stuffed with catnip and all other kind of attractants for the feline fiends. I hardly got this avocado out of its packaging before my cat was already rubbing all over it. If I could I would buy 20 of these and just spread them around the house for my cat. The only other toy to come into competition with this one as far as cat favoritism is the Cannes catnip stuff to beaver.
My cats really like catnip toys or are immediately drawn to their scratching posts when I put some fresh catnip on them. But they mostly ignore this toy, which makes me wonder if it's old and the catnip smell has worn off? But the toy is cute and sturdy, maybe other cats would appreciate it more.
I bough this on the same day that I purchased a fancy, moving, USB-charged rolling toy for my cats, which cost 6 times the price of this stuffed toy -- and they have no interest in the fancy toy and love the avocado, LOL! This is like giving your kids a computerized Buzz Lightyear and they only want to play with the cardboard box. Thoreau was right: simplify, simplify, simplify!
Bottom line: buy a bunch of these affordable catnip toys and toss them around the house to make your cats happy without doing major harm to your wallet. Simple but good.
Joe loved his cat nip avocado. The mesh doesn’t hold up for long, but he loved that cute little thing. Great stitching. The mesh maybe isn’t necessary though. Not sure though. Just rescued this little guy. And is my first cat in years. But he seemed to tear this up really fast. Hadn’t torn up any of his other toys yet. That being said. The mesh is shredded, but the rest of the toy is still intact and being attacked daily. He still loves it. Kind of equate it to a dog ripping out the stuffing of a toy and then it still being it’s favorite toy.
