To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This is my second Meera Sodha book (Fresh being the first) and I love them both. This is full of delicious vegetarian and vegan recipes, tasty, filling and nutritious. But East needed better editing. There are several mistakes in the book, eg one recipe says you need a large frying pan with a lid, but never mentions when you're supposed to put the lid on. Another lists rapeseed oil in the recipe, but never tells you when to use it. I'm an experienced cook so I managed, but it could be offputting for beginners. So read the recipes through before you start!
Really lovely book with some great recipes, some of which are quite advanced with more difficult to come by ingredients. Great for vegans too, it’s really clear which recipes are veggie and vegan, with ways of making some of the veggie dishes vegan
I bought this as a Christmas present for my Mum - the recipes look beautiful and the pictures are great. Unfortunately, the book was quite scuffed with dirt marks all over the front. I don't have time to return it now so a little disappointed but I am sure she will love it anyway!
Just tried one thing which was a dud so far ( Soring onions and Ginger noodles)but bought it as some of Meera’s recipies are my regular favourites. It is an excellent intro to Eastern food which is what I bought it for.
