Works great! Beats my 30 year old analog VU tuner for precision, speed and price. These things are great....too great. If your guitars tuning pegs have 14:1 or better ratio, tuning may only take seconds. If you have some lower quality tuners, (like 90% of us), you may never achieve what appears to be "perfect" tune. But you don't have to. There are 1200 "cents" per octave, being off as much as 10 cent is imperceivable to the human ear. This is one of those rare moments in life when "close" actually IS "good enough". Edit: Be aware...this tuner is good to keep with a guitar for a quick tuning check... however, it is not capable of initial setup tuning as it's range is less than an octave. (i.e. - it cannot be used for intonation)
Hope these tips will be helpful since it arrives with no instructions....1) review pictures on Amazon 2) you will notice very small indentations in foam covering bottom (2) base tubes...cut out the foam here to expose holes to thread these sections to the 2 leg sections (left and right) using the provided bolts (4)..if you insert your finger inside these tubes you will feel the nuts inside. 3) when you bolt the vertical tubes to this assembled base they will snap in place and stay upright!
Works like it says for my bass, for the most part. Except that it cannot seem to register the E string. Leaving me to tune it against my A string. Which is kind of the reason I got a tuner, so I wouldn't have to do specifically that.
Assembly was difficult because some things did not line up as they should, some predrilled holes were not big enough for the provided screws, and the holes in the base were covered by foam (so I had to puncture through it). Aside from that, it's about the quality you would expect for the price. It gets the job done.
