I have two cats, both micro-chipped and one have recent been diagnosed with kidney issues.
She needed to be put on a special cat food that my other cat can't eat, so I was looking for solutions for feed her as both my cats are grazers. I don't earn a lot of money so but £119 cat bowl was a lot but it is for my cat so I did. Now she is 10 year old, soon to be 11 and it is hard for her to learn new things but we preserved as it is our only option.
I opted to connect it to the tag that comes with the product and not her micro chip but last night I found out it opens for my other cat too, now, I promise you I did not connect it to him nor did it open for him up until last now.
So, it would seem it actually opens for any pet with a micro-chip that can fit under the arch. So I am now £119 down with a cat bowl that doesn't really work. Since I don't want to risk my other younger cat I have to remove the micro-chip cat bowl and put down normal food whilst I think off a different and cheaper way of feeding my older cat her food.
I will say, if you're trying to stop neighbors cats (non-micro-chipped) or big dogs from getting the food it will probably do the job but keep the box longer than a few day so you can return it if it doesn't work out.

Sure Petcare has taken a brilliant idea and made a terrible product on multiple levels and backed it up with even worse customer service.
1. They have been aware that the lack of a rear cover was an issue for over 4 years but instead of fixing the feeders they have it as an accessory at an additional cost. Their excuse is that most don’t need it but that appears false based on the sheer number of complaints about the lack of rear cover in the review.
2. The scales are inaccurate. I can zero fish, place 80 grams of food in said dish, close the lid, open it, remove 5 grams, and it will send that two or three times that amount is being removed.
3. The connectivity to hub is subpar at best. It doesn’t zero all the time without multiple attempts or resets. Feeders drop frequently. Cat will eat and update will not go to phone or app. Like the rear cover you have to pay even more for the hub to make the product work correctly.
4. Customer support is impossible to contact and flippant when you do. I emailed twice asking for advice and had no reply. I then attempted to search forums and found nothing. Finally I called..... after sitting on hold for 32 mins I was disconnected. My second call resulted in a 47 min hold and when I began to explain my issue to the women who answered she told me her cats don’t have that problem and then was rude as I continued to seek help. I repeated my question and she said she was hanging up. I am happy her cats don’t have that issue but mine do and seeing as see works for customer service I would expect a willingness to assist be present.
Overall, this feeder would be brilliant is executed properly and backed up with support. Sadly that’s not what sure petcare provides with their product.
So much potential. I have already replaced a feeder because of inaccurate measurements. It told me my cat at 43 g... which was obvious she ate 2-3 g. This issue continued to happen so I swapped out the “faulty” unit for yet another faulty device doing the same thing. Then my second feeder will disconnect from the hub. I have lost all my data, which was inaccurate anyways. So if you use these for microchip purposes, I think they are fine. But trying to closely monitor how much my cat is eating has been a nightmare. Also their support is not great... just call them, they won’t email back.
