I ordered this after seeing my Husband's - he has the medium version. I wanted somethinga little smaller, and this fits the bill. I wanted it to use for hanging my handbag whilst out and about. It's great, but my only critisim is that if you want to hang it on thicker tables, it's not quite big enough to work. Not the clip's fault, but bear in ming you might need the medium size for certain situations.
My first Heroclip. So far I do really like the versatility. Used. Pretty much right out of the box (well Amazon passed mailer). Holds my bag off the ground. Did a great job on my work desk. New bag and all... I needed to dial in the organization. And while I was fighting with all my crap, the HeroClip held my bag in place sink didn’t have to keep picking it up off the floor ( also... new bag... don’t want. On the floor just yet). The only issue I’ve had, is the handing arm spun loose and got caught in t her opening of my bag a few times. I have it clipped to my top grab handle for the best weight distribution while hanging. And when I didn’t have it hanging, the clip had a tendency to come lose from the wire gate and get caught in the open zipper. Had a good snag on one of these occasions.
All in all, I’m happy with the Heroclip. I loved the clip to a smaller side loop still in the main grab handle (see pics). So the weight isn’t as distributed, but it no longer snags. I have not, and will not use this with my laptop in the bag. That’s to valuable to trust to and $18 clip.
Bought one for my wife based on reviews and then another for myself for some of my photo gear. Good solid construction -- nothing cheap about it -- but it will NOT work in all situations. Some tables, countertops and bar-tops will be too thick or curved so it never gets traction or won't open wide enough. You are going to run into situations where it simply can't latch onto something.
The product description makes it sound like it works everyplace, but that's simply not the case. That said, when it does work, it performs as advertised.
I have this hooked on my purse, and use it for so many things! My purse hangs on the side of the kitchen counter instead of the floor, hooks onto most*restaurant tables (*It lost a star because it needs to be a hair larger), and I hook it to the shopping cart while shopping!
I'd imagine the "purse-stroller-backpack"use takes precedent over what I use it for, which is hanging overly long headset wires onto a mount. It's an aviation headset so it has a power module, and the crab hangs it onto the mount on the plane window very well. If it was 20% smaller then it would've been perfect for me, otherwise can't complain much about this decent product.
