To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The ad makes no mention of any loss of detail in the picture received; however, I estimate a 10-15% loss resulting in a somewhat washed-out picture and motion that is not as smooth as the source 1080P. This was noticeable when tested with only 8-feet between the transmitter and receiver and no walls in between. 10-15% may not seem like much, but since I am used to a sharp, crisp 1080P picture, this level of loss was unacceptable. It should be fine when used with a projector for office presentations, but not for viewing HD at home.
I would give this 5 stars except every time I turn on the TV, I have sound and no picture. I cycle the power on both units to get it to restore. Tried to change the channel, but it did no good. Instructions are not clear on how to set up web settings in administrative mode. I tried to link to my home network, but that did not work. Left in default mode. Picture is nice. Sound has no issues.
Overall it works well. However, live action sports appear a little jumpy compared to regular TV. The infrared pass through does not work for all remotes and mine is one of the ones that does not work. Otherwise, it does what it is designed to do. Setup was easy.
Device does exactly what it says and very easy to setup. The picture is high quality when watching anything that does not have a fast moving picture. When watching a fast moving show (Football, sports, etc...), the picture will start to pixelate and can't keep up. Since I use this for entertaining during Football season, I had to go back to using a different brand that can keep up and use this one as a backup just in case.
This system truly is lug and play, but..... while sound on both TVs was good initially, after a while there was a nasty static sound on both TVs. When I installed a splitter between the source and TV one and TX that seemed to fix the issue. Now it might be the VISIO brand TV, but who knows. No phone number for tech support.
This was easy enough to setup and get working out of the box. My problem is, if I leave the transmitter & receiver on for several hours, the system appears to lock up and I don't get any video out. I can power both units off for a few minutes and it will come back on and work for several more hours. It's usually not a big issue but annoying all the same. I have both units (Tx/Rx) in well ventilated areas.
