I had been wanting a dark green wool winter coat for a long time, i want it to be figure hugging, or slimming, and not look like i am wear a potato sack and bulky. I didn't research the coat too much prior to buying it. I was concerned about the color, the fit, the feel. After i clicked Buy, i somehow had some time to browse and research the item further. What i read left me with trepidation. When i opened the bag i was so blown away, the coat feels heavy, the material is soft and not stiff. The color is gorgeous. The name Petroleum made me wonder how much "dark green" will be, you can def tell the dark green in it, it is not quite dull like seaweed and not flashy like moss. For me it is perfect. Someone wrote how big it is and i was worried i would like like a tent wearing it and will have to return which i absolutely hate to do when i buy something online, the hassle! But no, to my delight, it fits me perfectly, i am a size 12 in every brand esp. Banana Republic or JCREW. I own several gorgeous coats in size 12P from JCREW. I am 5' 1' on a good day, on a bad day i feel i grow an inch from all the huffing, and this coat falls perfectly at my knees. It has a bit room to wear bulky sweaters underneath but i don't plan to do that, i feel like this coat is perfect for winter in OKC where i live. I simply cannot wait to wear it. Such an incredible find! I am tempted to buy it in the Bordeaux color!
I bought the Bordeaux color, from Zulilly. It's odd, the coat doesn't feel as heavy as the Petroleum one, this one feels thinner and lighter. I checked and they both has the 60 wool, 38 poly and 2 others - if you notice this is not what Amazon says. The Petroleum one which i got from Amazon feels heavy but still soft and just comfortable to wear. But this one I don't get that same feeling. The deal breaker for me is i don't feel joy when i wear the Bordeaux color, this is like the dirty red brick to me, there isn't much deep burgundy red that i have been hoping for, not quite the color of wine in my head, so i am returning it.
Love it! The arms run long which is great because they’re usually too short for me. The jackets runs very large, however. I am almost always a size 12/medium in all women’s tops. This is at least one size too big and I could wear it 9 months pregnant. Will be ordering a smaller size.
Edit: I got a size 8 and if it weren’t for the shoulders (mine are broad, I could have still gone down a size.
