To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
So I bought these to make pork dumplings. I used the small one only since that was the size of my dumplings. Halfway thru making them....so about 40 one of the handles breaks. This is what you use to squeeze them together. The weld was very very poor on these. So the next 60 i just grabbed the dumpling maker to squeeze and let me tell you my hands got raw from the sharp outer edges. Didn't send back because my uncle is a welder and will fix this for me, but he shouldn't have to. If they were better made i would have given them a 5 star because they work like i want them to as long as they are not broken.
This review is a bit late. It just didn't work out,, the smaller one was a waste for me in terms of size and the larger one, was uneven, it didn't sit flat so it couldn't make a clean cut through anything.... it just made a mess of things...it's currently sitting in a kitchen draw, probably waiting to be thrown out on my next big clean!
diameter is for the inner circle, should be the outer circle. I use the goya discos para empanadas. Those are 5.5 inches in diameter. they sit INSIDE this press. It does not reach the edge to seal it. And when you stretch the dough to seal it, the press is not tight so it opens up easily.
The product is study however the size of disc we normally purchase is a little smaller than this. it took so long to stretch the dough i just decided to do them by hand. A waste of money. It may work for someone who has time to stretch the dough or use large disc.
I am very disappointed. Empanadas COULD NEVER be made with these. Not unless you are making them teeny tiny. True Empanadas are way too big for these tiny little presses to do anything with. Returning for full refund.
