I rolled out pillsbury canned biscuit dough really thin and cut circles with a glass to fit each and they worked like a charm! I will attach photos later to my review as soon as I make a second batch! But you can stuff these with anything. I am also going to try making my own dumpling dough and give these a whirl, I know I can make any dumpling or perogie by hand and not use these but they sure are nice for premaking and freezing uncooked product as the sizes are all the same and the filling is the same amount.
Mine arrived undamaged and to apparent specifications. As with any surface, I recommend a slight dusting of flour prior to inserting the dough disk. I found that keeping the press flat on the work table and applying downward pressure on the TOP, rather than the handle, results in an evenly sealed hand pie.
With proper use, it functions perfectly and is a great gift for bakers in the family.
I use these when I make empanadas. It makes the most adorable little empanadas! This tool makes it very easy to seal the edges. The size doesn’t allow for much filling. But I didn’t expect it too (after all it is a dumpling maker). But it still does what I want it to do.
