It does keep the kitties away from the Christmas tree. At first you have to spray alot every 3-4 hours, as they lose intrest you are spraying less frequently, and then spraying less product. Finally only spraying a bit here and there to remind them. They barely even glance that direction now. I have one, 5 yr old, one, 2 yr old, and three, 6 mos. old kitties. Works for all of them. The one that is 2 years now, destroyed our tree last year. On the down side the spray pump has failed, so good product, pump not so much 🙄
I bought this for keeping my cats off my office chair that is conveniently located under a window. The scent is great, like my calming bedtime spray, but it's only effective right after you spray it. So, when I go to work, I can't keep the door open since the cats will scratch the chair. I might try the tape next to protect it from them using it as a post.
After using this product as suggested, three times per day for the first two weeks (although it has only been a week so far), I can say that the smell deters my cat 50% of the time. Hopefully with more consistent usage over the next week and beyond, it decreases my cat's scratching even more. However, the fact that so much is needed (3x per day for 14 day?!) doesn't seem cost effective. Now, if the scratching is completely eliminated after 2 weeks, give or take a week or so, then maybe it is worth the money but if this is something that will require constant upkeep and product usage, definitely not cost effective. I still have high hopes as a 50% decrease is still amazing in only 1 week but it is something to keep in mind depending on how many surfaces you are thinking of using this on.
The nozzle doesn’t work, when pressed, it stays down and have to manually pull it up to spray again. The scent is wonderful (Rosemary) and the cat hates it but it doesn’t seem to last more than a couple of days.
