Every once it a while you come across something that is better than you expected. This is one of those times. I didn't really feel I was going to get a quality product for only $6 while similar products sell for $12 for far fewer leashes. I have already strapped one to my steak out pole, one to my paddle, and one to each of my 6 fishing rods. I purchased one set and after I received it, I immediately ordered another because they worked so well. The spring metal clip is fairly durable and the bungee cord and Velcro straps are very strong. The Velcro strap is large enough to strap around a wrist or small enough to attach to a fishing rod.
We are new to the kayaking world and just purchased two youth and two adult kayaks. I knew the kids (7&10) would probably need something to keep track of their paddles but good lord I didn’t realize they would just ditch them in the water with reckless abandon. Thankfully these leashes made sure the paddles didn’t just float away.
On the adult end, these are a great length and I didn’t notice any sort of weight or length issues. They never got in the way and worked out way better than I anticipated.
I flipped the kayak and my paddle went down river without me... need I say more? This paddle leash is exactly what I needed. I was worried that it was going to annoy me but I forget it's even there and just having the peace of mind knowing I won't lose my paddle (again) is great. We have them on all of our paddles now.
We bought these for a multi day canoe trip we took with our two elementary age kids. We used these straps to hold their paddles in and keep some other things latched to the canoe. They have plenty of stretch and seemed durable for the four days we worked them. It worked great to secure things, although we never ended up needing anything tied down, but it was in just in case. It gave me and the kids a sense of security.
If you were looking for a strap to safeguard your expensive fishing reel and rod, you found four high quality but really a bargain! I bought four pack and I bought another four just in case the price goes up or they stop selling it. They fit well with both spinning and casting rod. I use it for my expensive rod and reel and when I deep sea fishing. I strap on end to my rod securely and the other end to my belt or the hand rail on the boat. This is definitely a rod/reel saver for you and you should most definitely have on for your expensive equipments. Also, I highly recommend this for children and your amateur friends/Girl friend that want to borrow your stuff!! They are very quality and probably the best deal on Amazon or any where... a sunglasses straps cost more than these four straps! Great deal and I highly recommend it.
Got these for when I take the yak out fishing, cause its not IF you turtle, but WHEN you turtle. So far, havent had the opportunity to personally test them, but I took my nieces and nephew out kayaking for their first time, and hooked up the paddle leash to each one of their paddles (cause im smart like that..... sometimes) and each kid ended up dropping the paddle in the process of rowing. No big deal for the two older ones, they just picked up the leash and hauled the paddle back.... the youngest one got a bit nervous and wanted someone to come get her paddle for her, but as soon as the leash was pointed out, she caught right on.... so day saved!
After some use the weak link are the clipse the velcro strap in the court itself is fine you'll finding yourself having to replace the clips pretty quickly that being said I guess they're okay but it's kind of ridiculous that the most important part which is the clip will fail
