This kit got the job done switching the shell of my Nintendo Switch, and is a must have because the tools that come with the shell replacement kits are TERRIBLE.
I will say I started to have issues with stripping and the tips wearing down by the time I was done, mostly with the Phillips tips, but I had better ones for the job anyways. For this reason I docked the kit one star.
I found these tools via link from electronicsNmore on YouTube.
They had everything I needed to replace the left rail slider on my switch. The tools feel pretty sturdy and the black and red is a nice color. The tweezers are nice as well, but I did not expect the tips to be so sharp. Honestly, it was a tedius process to handle the connectors around the motherboard (not because of the tweezers), but thankfully I did not accidentally stab any parts when I lost my patience a few times... Just myself, heh...
Anyways, the magnetism is pretty strong on most of the tools. I was able to pickup multiple screws with one screwdriver (not that it's needed...). The spudger is really sturdy too without being sharp, so I used that most of the time when I could.
The case is nice, but it was a bit dirty from some white foam remnants when I first got it. No biggie.
I rarely open electronics, except for my own PC that I built, but this was my first time going into a small console. These tools got me through it all just fine. I plan to try giving my PS4 controllers a good cleaning next.
My son runs video gaming tournaments professionally and most of their equipment is by Nintendo. When I realized I could get all the tools he needed in one package I bought it immediately. He says everything works perfectly and he uses these tools constantly. There is a similar set being sold that has brightly colored handles and I'm sure works just as well but I bought this one because the handles appeared to be a bit larger and more sturdy, hence the "Professional" designation.
This product is great, you get what you see plus more I think. I also use this to clean my phone speakers. The bag it comes in it’s great. You can feel that it’s not cheap. I’m thinking of getting more as gifts for my friends.
I bought this to switch the shell on my Nintendo Switch because I've read that the tools that come with the replacement shells are low grade but the PH00 screwdriver that comes with this kid was too big for replacing my joy cons shell and that's the one that gets used the most. The Y screwdriver, tweezers, and plastic prying tools worked fine.
The 3.8mm Game Bit Stripped After 4-5 NES Carts and the Spudgers Snapped With Very Little Force. Getting 3 Stars Instead of 1 because the Tweezers and Torq's have Lasted But the Turn Knobs Stick. I have Not Used the Triwings.
Purchased to fix a Nintendo product because the kit had both sizes of triwing tools. I only received one triwing tool. A tool labeled as the larger triwing tool was incorrectly just another Philip's, which ended up stripping the triwing screws before I noticed. After inspecting the tips of all the tools received in this kit I realized the kit did not come with the larger triwing tool. Should have just purchased the tools individually to make sure I got what I was looking for.
If you are going to work on small electronics, this kit is for you. Bought it to open my galaxy active 2 piece of garbage and it works perfectly. I have also used it for battery changes and other projects. Well made and study materials.
This isn't a completely terrible tool kit for the price, but be cautious of the tri-wing screwdrivers in the set. One of my screws on the back of my Nintendo Switch got stripped thanks to the tri-wing screwdiver. Luckily, the replacement backplate I bought from a different seller came with extra phillips head screws, so I replaced all the tri-wing screws on my Switch with those. The phillips head screwdriver is the only usable tool in the kit now.
This mini electronics screwdriver set did what I needed which was take 3 Wii's and make one that functions with all the parts. It wasn't made out of very hard metal and seemed to strip fairly easily. As long as you baby it, it will do fine. Compared to what you'd pay from Nintendo or a box store this is a really good deal otherwise it would have got 3 stars.
