I bought these lights to accentuate some artwork that's 12 feet high on a wall. When they arrived I inserted brand new batteries, positioned them pointed at the art work and they died before the evening was over. Cheap and useless for my needs. Even if I use rechargeable batteries who has time or the engery to change the batteries every day on lights I need to get a ladder to access?
Bought 6 of these to light a 9 x 14 ft. space from a roughly 16 ft. ceiling. They did an amazing job of that. Lights were very easy to manipulate to point at particular objects. The 3M sticky part works well as far as I can tell. The remote is small and does its job. Although some of the buttons are pretty close to useless, the on/off works great and thats all I could ask for at this price. Each light takes 3 AA's. Great value at this price point.
I purchased Thee about 3 weeks ago. I was excited to receive these because I thought they would be great lights to place on the wall above my kitchen sink for extra light. The thing is, they would be great if they worked properly. The first one I took out of the box and setup, I was surprised at how dim the light was (10 and 40%) and both remotes only activate the time and on/off for that light. I was bummed and decided to try the other light expecting the same thing. The second one however worked great and all remote functions were effective. I was able to see exactly how the light looked at 10, 40, 80, and 100%, which is how I know the first was stuck at 10 and 40%. I placed the properly functioning light where I could get extra light about my kitchen sink and it was great...until that stopped working properly and only provides 10 and 40% lighting. It’s so frustrating! I would normally go for a Bed, Bath, and Beyond product because they have so many gadgets that would serve the purpose I need it to, but I wanted to give a different company a try for once. Now I understand why I shouldn’t. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!
One of the remotes stopped working after about a week. Fortunately they give you two. Construction is about what you’d expect for the price (which incidentally has increased from $18.99 to $22.49 since I bought them mid August).
The lights were used for spotlighting artwork. They are reasonably bright for the size and do have a spotlight type beam. The problem is that they eat through batteries very fast. Originally I put alkaline batteries in, and after they only lasted a few hours, realized I was going to have to use rechargeables or buy hundreds of batteries. I bought new Amazon 2400mAh and EBL 2800mAh batteries and a brand new charger. Fully charged, the batteries lasted roughly 4-1/2 hours at 100% brightness before noticeably starting to fail.
So the most important thing to know is they cannot be used on a consistent continuous basis. They’d be fine if you were having people over for a few hours.
Less than an hour to install 6 lights. I put them onto a stucco ceiling so the adhesive was not going to work. I didn't trust the #2 screws included so I used small sheet rock screws which works perfectly. What's nice is one controller will control all lights at once as long as you aim it correctly. Couldn't be happier for the money to show off my "museum".
I purchased these lights because there is no closet lighting in my 100 year old house. I like that they are battery powered, super easy to install and the light goes where I point them. The lighting is bright and to be honest I really only needed one in the closet but the package came with two. I didn’t leave them on for any length of time; only turned them on to grab something out of the closet. Love the remote too! Worked great for my needs!
I bought a couple of them to highlight paintings. I liked the look, so I bought two more. Then, I discovered some problems. First, I have a tv antenna near one of my paintings. When I turn on the lights, the antenna signal stops, and I lose my channels. Second, the remote controls ALL of the lights. So, you may mean to turn off one, but now you just turned on another one. This is not a big deal if you have a multi roomed house, but I live in a home with an open floor plan. It is basically one big room. Third, I only attached one to a surface. So, I can’t really report on how easy/safe for surfaces it is.
I am using the two spotlights to illuminate a carved African door, mounting one light approximately six inches behind the other. The front light is focused on the top of the door at 80% illumination with the back focused on the bottom at 100%. The effect is perfect! My ceiling is textured so I have chosen to use the screws for mounting. Be aware that the screw holes are located diagonally in relation to the front of the fixture, so mount accordingly. I am able to use one remote to control both fixtures, and find it is sometimes a bit sluggish to react. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the Olafus LED wireless spotlights.
These lights were installed in our RV. Install was quick and easy. The brightness of the lights provides good reading light on full power. Unfortunately, the batteries don't last long on full power and the lights begin to dim significantly after about an hour of use. at $5 for a couple of AA batteries this is an expensive light to use.
I got these to put one over my sink to have extra light at night and I like that they come with a remote control. They give me the right amount of light that I need. The other one I'm going to out in my bathroom to use as a nightlight. You can either use the 3m and stick it up or screw it in where you want it.
